KAPPA SQUADRON REPORT, 18th June 2002, Major Algaron

Quote For The Week

"The standard HCI punishment, imposed it would seem without the opportunity of appeal and with no consideration of a pilots experience or potential, goes way beyond what I would consider reasonable disciplinary measures."

Algaron Xerves (1976-Present)

Squadron News

- Wing II has a new leader. I am delighted that COL Stele Pellaeon has been chosen for the post, as I believe he is the best man for the job. Wing II has had a bit of a turbulent time in the last couple of weeks, but with Stele now in the driving seat, I know we will come out on top! Now that our WC has been assigned, I'd better finally get round to sorting out the May MSE - it'll be in the post Stele.

- The Hammer Squadron competition concluded it's second week. We managed the full 5 TFRs this week which I am please about. Although our average score was down on Hammer, the fact they only managed to submit 4 TFRs meant that Kappa has extended it's lead to just over 60,000 points. The fact that all of Flight II is currently on leave, or suffering from technical difficulties has meant that a number of our less experienced pilots are having to step up to the plate, and they are doing me proud. Keep up the good work, especially now that victory is in our grasp. Full results are available on the Kappa website.

- We've had a controversial week with the HCI conviction of LT Grinning Donkey for pilot file tampering. My appeal against this charge was met, rather unsuprisingly, by a wall of silence and plain refusal to consider my argument. My feelings on this subject have been made very clear to some very senior officers, and my distaste for their procedures made well known. I only hope Donkmon doesn't get too bitter about this affair. He has the ability to become a very fine Tie Corps officer, and will always have my full support, because it seems that TC justice (or lack thereof) has deserted him.

- CM Tempest produced a typically brilliant Kappa Squadron banner. I'll keep accepting submissions for this competition until the end of June.

- We are still awaiting results of the Wing I vs. Wing II competition.
