- SQUADRON NEWS -

  • After 6 long months the Sovereign Squadron League is finally over and Diamondback squadron WON THE XvT DIVISION!!!! Yea, with a last awesome performance we defeated Aggressor Squadron and got 1st place and the title of TIE Corps Instruction Squadron. I'd like to point out that in this last round the 5 Death Riders who participated all placed in Top 5 positions, what could I say? Ah yes, we rock!! Also, we won the 3rd place final in XWA showing to be one of the three best XWA squadrons in the Fleet too and we placed in Top 8 in TIE Fighter division. Big congratulations to everyone who flew for this competition, our medals are on the way in the meanwhile we can start our cool post-win party down at the Intrepid canteen. Way to go Death Riders!!
  • Congratulations to Zhaim Jifarr for his well deserved promotion to Commander!

  • The Intrepid Activity competition ends tomorrow! Remember to send any gfx or fiction you recently made to COM Frodo and CC me so I'll know what you did. Also a new competition has begun yesterday: the Diamondback homepage Banner contest. It will run for two weeks and the winner will receive a shining IS-SR.
  • CM Zhaim Jifarr passed Java Script exam with 100% score, more congratulations to him!
  • A quick reminder about FCHG points. Tvan is only 70 points away from passing the big 3000 mark. Zhaim needs only 60 points and he will be a Gladiator, keep the good work up guys!

    Ok, wipe away those tears folks, I'm back. First off, my sincere apologies for this unexpected absence...a culmination of deadlines and serious computer problems all conspired to keep me off line for the past week.

    Anyway, the majority of updates are now complete. Those that aren't, I'm afraid will need to be resent to me since I ended up losing a significant portion of my HD during the troubles. Again my apologies for this.

    In other news, I'm sorry to report that Vice Admiral RogueWing has decided to step down as Commodore of the ISD Immortal and take up a FM's position in Ghost Squadron. RW was one of the finest Flag Officers to grace the TIE Corps and I'm very sorry to see him go. The Flight Office extends its thanks for all the work he's put into his Battlegroup and Ship

  • The Make A New mIRC Function Competition

    I have started yet another COMM competition (this must be a record for COMM ;). Its called the "Make a new mIRC function" competition. The idea is to make a simple function that provides a useful way to do a task in mIRC. Entries do not have to be massive full fledged scripts like P&P, rather a simple paragraph of code that will do something useful.

    Rewards are as follows:
    1st Place: IS-GR
    2nd Place: IS-SR
    3rd Place: IS-BR

    I'm hoping to promote mIRC scripting in the EH, and perhaps find a few good coders to help make an "EH Script" package. The contest will end at 12 midnight EST 2003/09/05. Please send all submissions to io@absolutek.ca.

  • TC 'Competition's Competition'

    There has been a general decrease in the number of competitions submitted recently. To provide that little extra incentive I am sponsoring a small ‘Competition’s Competition’ open to all from Squadron Commander to Battlegroup Commander; the Officer who submits (and receives my approval) the most competitions within a period of one (1) month (18th August to 18 September) will receive the rare Iron Star Platinum Ribbon and a very large congratulatory pat-on-the-back from the Training Office.

    These competitions should, however, be as inventive and interesting as I know you are all capable of creating.

ISD-II Intrepid Activity Comp!
Start Date (mm/dd/yy): 7/1/2003 
End Date (mm/dd/yy): 8/25/2003 

Medals to be Awarded: IS-SW to Top MP Pilot IS-SW to Top SP Pilot IS-SR To Top IWATS IS-SR To Top Fiction and Graphics IS-BWs and IS-BRs for second places respectfully. Top winning Squadron gets the title of WC's Own, Top Pilot gets the title of COM Protector.
 
Miscellaneous Information: For Every mission flown, one (1) point is awarded to the pilot who flew it. Every fiction sent to the Intrepid Flags gets between 1 and 5 points (up to the Flag's discretion.) 3 points for every Iwats course passed. NO POINTS FOR HIGH SCORES. In addition a Ladder is going on, every ladder loss is worth two points, and every Ladder Win is worth 3. In the end, the pilot with the most points for each section gets an IS-SW or IS-SR (depending the Section) and IS-BW and IS-BR for seconds.
