Hey Squadron Report for August 9th through the 17th 2003.

Hey Hey! Time for another Hey Squadron Report. I've been a bit under the
weather since the beginning of the week so this report's a little late.
Let's do it!

SQUADRON NEWS
-------------------------

After a month off, Hey Squadron Top Ace is running again. The battle to be
flown is XWA-TC #35 "Hammer to Anvil Part 3". Get your pilot files to me by
11:59PM GMT August 30th. Highest score recieves an IS-BW and the ID Line
addition of "Hey Squadron Top Ace, August 2003". Good luck!

This time next week, I'll be back in school and will be back on a network!
Yay! I've still got some things to sort out with my other computer, despite
the fact that it seems to be working just fine now... Anyway, once I'm sure
it's operational, I'll be resuming work on the squadron website and maybe
playing a little JKII if anyone's game.

We've chosen the winners in the Heroes Flag Competition. We got many great
submissions, but in the end we narrowed it down 2 that we're gonna use.

Operations Officer Open For Applications

Overview
The Operations Officer is responsible for the timely awarding of medals
within the TIE Corps, providing consultive feedback on high level medals and
maintaining the Operations Manual and related materials.

Selection Criteria - Essential
1. Good written communication skills.
2. An acceptable level of presence on online media such as IRC, message
boards, etc.
3. Fast email response time.
4. The ability to work with a wide range of EH personnel in a diplomatic
fashion.

Selection Criteria - Desirable
1. Graphics and/or HTML ability.
2. Prior experience in a similar position.

You must address each criteria with supporting evidence. Simply saying "Yes,
I can do that" will not be enough. Include specific examples of your
experience. You should meet at least the essential criteria to be considered
for the position. You will be expected to perform the core duties of the
position to an acceptable level. You must include at least three (3)
references. At least one of these must be a former or current superior,
preferably current. Ensure you have their permission first, as your
application will be seen in a negative light if you have not gained their
permission. Applications should be sent to the Fleet Commander and Executive
Officer with the subject "Application for Operations Officer".

MISCELLANEOUS

Well, before I started writing this report, I got back from seeing "Open
Range", the Kevin Costner Western movie. I gotta say, it was pretty good.
Right up there with "Tombstone." If anyone likes Westerns or even just a
good, entertaining movie, I recommend that you go see "Open Range".

Well, now I'm kinda glad I didn't get that job I applied for out in
Sacramento, California. I probably wouldn't have been able to swing a dead
cat without hitting a blasted politician or politician-wannabe. Heh, I'da
probably got run over by Arnold's or Gray Davis' limo. Ha! Wouldn't that
look good in the headlines? :) Gotta say though, Georgy Russell, one of the
candidates, is kinda cute. She's a programmer by trade too.
