Erm....sorry about that....wasn't very Commander-like of me....but who cares?!?! We won and have retained WC's OWN!!!! Congrats to everyone in the Squad for a brilliant job on bringing home the honour for the 2nd time this year. Special congrats also go out to CM Savageaz who finished 2nd overall and was a great help in ensuring our win! :) Other than that, it was a good week activity wise, especially seeing Ace and Blade, the 'old heads' of the squad were too busy at the bar getting into the celebratory spirit early to get to the simulators and fly :P That must also be why Sav's laser hit percentages fell so much in the battles he flew this week :D Dont think you'll be getting too much of a rest though guys, as I will be trying line up a Squad Comp soonish, and there are plenty of ASF competitions running at the moment!

 - The fleet is currently searching for apps for a new OPS Officer. Hopefully one will be chosen soon and everything we're currently waiting on will be done.

 - The Tie Corps Battlegroups are also after new COM's for both the ISD Relentless and the ISD Immortal. Details are on the TC News page, and apps are being accepted until Tuesday 2nd of September.

 - TO has sent out a reminder about the Apostasy Competition, details are at http://www.emperorshammer.ca/comps_apostasy.html.

 - Sovereign Squadron League 2003 has finished! Congratulations to winning Squadron's Omega(TIE and XWA) and our very own Diamondback Squadron(XvT) and to everyone who participated. Full results are at http://www.minos.net/~proton/warroom.html.

 - The TO's office has also just openned a new form of XWA MP.....the XWA Racing League. If you've been looking for something different to try, give this a go - info at http://www.ehracingleague.minos.net.

 - There's also been an email worm doing the rounds around the TC and the ASF. It's called the 'Sobig' Worm, and a fix/checker that takes about 1 minute to download and administer can be found at http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sobig.f@mm.removal.tool.html. Make sure you all d/l it to check....I dont want worms from ANY of you....especially hobbit sized ones from you Frodo! :P

 - RECRUIT.....RECRUIT.....RECRUIT!!!!

 - The Wing Comp has finished....and WE WON! w00t again!!!! We ended the competition 195pts ahead of our nearest rival, Diamondback Squadron and retained our WC's Own honour for ANOTHER two months! Congrats to everyone in the squad for participating and helping Krayt bring home the title - this makes it 4mths in a row, lets see how long we can keep this going ;) This also means that we're all entitled to wear [WC's Own Squadron] in our TC signatures as you will see in mine at the end of this email....wear it proudly!!!

   I'd also like to congratulate Diamondback and the other Squads on making it a fun and interesting comp. Especially Diamondback who we jossled with pretty much til the end :) Congrats also go out to Tvan for COM Protector. I must say though, I'm also very proud to say that Krayt DOMINATED this competition in pretty much all categories. 'Grats to Sav for taking out 1st and an IS-SW in the SP category and myself for finishing 2nd. I also finished 2nd in the MP category. If that wasn't enuff, Blade also finished first in the Fiction category and our newest member, COL Ace finished 1st in the IWATS category. I honestly cant think of anything I like to see more as CMDR of this squadron than our performance in the Wing comp. Well done guys!!!

 - Now, just to bring us all down to earth, we are currently at 5 members again after Obiwan leaving, and as such I'm now taking apps from within the sqd and from anyone in the TC for the position of Krayt 2-1. Get those apps in if your interested!!

 - One more big event for the Squadron was the Sovereign Squadron League Comp.  Krayt Squadron finished approximately 30th Overall in TIE, 14th in XvT(down from 13th at end of regular season) and 9th in XWA(up from 12th at end of regular season)!!! Another finish to be proud of for the Squad, and we also had a few good placings from members who participated. Sav finished 49th Overall(of 127) in TIE and 29th(of 70) in XvT, and I managed a 36th place in XvT and a 16th Overall in XWA!! Cant wait for next year when hopefully we'll be better setup and be ready to make an assault on the top 8!!!  - In light of all our recent achievements I've decided to keep a record of what we've done this yr on my CMDR's Office page on the Squadron site. I'll also be nagging Phantom, Frodo and other past CMDR's to give me the 411 on the Sqd's past honours, so keep an eye out for that :)
