Welcome to the newest Kappa Squadron report. Sorry for the little
delay again.
It has been a rather quiet week, just as last one in which I was on
leave. I was rather disappointed by the squad's performance in Stele's
readiness alert, for we placed last of the wing. As Shimir has already
pointed out, this is unacceptable. I expect your activity to grow
during the next weeks.
Speaking of it, Jules Vega didn't report in and is therefore inactive
for five weeks now. With the FO stepping down from his position, I
can't have you removed from your position right now, Jules, until a
substitute is selected. Take it as a chance. When there's a new FO and
still no activity from you, you're outta here.


Squadron News
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

- We made last place in Stele's readiness alert. Bad! I would have
expected more of Kappa, even if I was on leave. Shimir reminded you
guys often enough.

- With a new OPS being in place, some overdue medals have been
awarded. Shimir got his IS-SR earned in Proton's caption comp as
well as his IS-GW earned for completing Stele's Summer Patrol. I got
an IS-BW for top-scoring in our comp against Tempest.
Just Shimir's well-deserved CoL still hasn't arrived, I hope it will
be done soon.

- Shimir earned himself some more metal this week by winning Fiction
Event Alpha of the "Apostasy" comp, plus making 2nd place in Fiction
Event Zeta, both as excellent readings as could be expected from
Shimir. Don't miss these stories, I'll add them to Kappa's fiction
archive on our HP right after writing this report.
Congrats to Shimir for winning an IS-PR and an IS-GR for his good
work!

- Tod has given out info on his newest competition, the Sovereign Cup.
Roasty and me are already in. If you want to participate, contact
Todbringer at todbringer@poczta.onet.pl, and hurry! This comp is
restricted to 32 pilots. More details in Tod's mail which I
forwarded to you yesterday.

- Medal Processing Completed (RA Alex Foley)
As of 2:32 AM EST, I have completed the 432 pending medal requests
and 73 pending uniform uploads. I hope that all of you have found
your mailboxes full of awarded medals. Anyone who has been holding
back the medals, please let them flow through now. I'd like to get
those July MSE Medals processed.

- Apostasy Results! (AD Keldorn Cochrane)
The Empero's Hammer-wide "Apostasy" competition has now drawn to a
close. The standard of submissions has been nothing short of
sterling, all that participated can give themselves a very large pat

- Wing XV WC (HA Priyum Patel)
COL Drax Remlinger has decided to step down after a successful tour
as Wing Commander on the Vanguard. Applications are now being
accepted for a new WC.

Taken from the Training Manual

-Oversee the operations of the Wing
-Keep in contact with Squadron Commanders
-Appoint Squadron Commanders
-Review medal recommendations from Squadron Commanders
-Review comments, questions, etc from wing members
-Report to the Commodore with recommendations
-Forward emails, where appropriate, from superior officers to the Wing
-Inform the Wing of important events, competitions, etc
-Completes BSFs for all Squadron Commanders under his/her command
-Be familar with primary reference materials (Training Manual, etc)
-Be familar with primary TIE Corps and Emperor's Hammer webpages
(Emperor's Hammer domain, TIE Corps domain, TIE Corps roster,
message board, etc)
-Submissions for the Emperor's Hammer Newsletter (sent to the
Executive Officer)
-Post/read the Emperor's Hammer message boards (where possible)
-Participate in competitions (where possible)
-Attend on-line meetings (where possible)
-Online Requirements: Moderate. Most of a Wing Commander's work will
be off-line in the form of reviewing various Medal requests,
verification of mission completions, etc. However, a Wing
Commander must be present occasionally on-line to post messages on
message boards. The Wing Commander must keep in contact with the
six Squadron Commanders in his wing and make sure the Squadrons
are active. In addition, the email load of a Wing Commander is
rather heavy, with response times expected to be 24-48 hours.
(average 7-12 hours/week)

Applications for the position go to Admiral Darksaber and Vice
Admiral SickMan before the end of next week.

- Operations Officer (HA Priyum Patel)
Congratulations go out to Rear Admiral Alex Foley who has been
chosen as the new EH Operations Officer.

Please give him some time to get settled before bombarding him with
overdue medal requests :P

- Commodore Appointments (HA Priyum Patel)
As was announced at last night's TIE Corps meeting, the new
Commodores have been decided. Many congratulations go out to:

Rear Admiral Locke Setzer - ISD Immortal
Rear Admiral Phantom - ISD Relentless

Myself and AD Krax received many fine applications for the
positions, but these two individuals stood out as the best Officers
for the job. Congrats!
