Hello Dragons, and welcome to the latest Kappa
Squadron report. I apologize in advance if this
report seems a bit unprofessional. This is my first
attempt at one while actually in command of anything,
so bear with me. First order of business:
-Tempest should have returned from his bike trip by
now, and I think it's safe to say that I speak for all
of us when I say that we want to know how it went. So
my last act as A-CMDR will be to order you to tell us
all about it....erm...please....Major. Thanks for
this chance Temp, the Squadron is yours again.
Squadron News:
--------------
-It was a pretty quiet this week as the ATRs will
indicate. While the SSL and Inter-Squad against
Tempest no doubt left us fatigued and we deserved this
break, I still am a little disapointed. Gentlemen we
just showed that we are the best non-elite squadron on
the Sov (and also one of the smallest) and as such, we
must be held to a different standard. I dont think
the activity I asked for was unreasonable, and I
simply asked that if you were unable to complete it,
you simply inform me. Only 2 of you complied with
that request. Don't be content with what we have done
boys. Contentedness leads to Complacency, Complacency
leads to defeat. Contentedness equals defeat. So
after this brief break, (those able to) lets get back
to work and continue kicking butt, Kappan style! ; )
-General Pellaeon has put the entire wing on readiness
alert. In his own words: "I want to see if we are
truley ready when a quick demand is required." So
lets get on this as I believe it is a good idea, and
could indicate some heavy action for Kappa in the near
future. The readiness alerts activity is to complete
one of the following activities:
1. Fly any mission you have NOT previously flown
2. Take AND pass any IWATS course you have NOT taken.
3. Submit a piece of fiction or graphic to your CMDR.
I originally gave you until yesterday to do this, but
now you have untill Sunday (as the rest of the Wing
does) to complete it. Temp, you are exempt.
-NOBODY (save myself) completed the Squadron Orders of
the week. Understandable this week, you guys have
been working hard. But after this break lets try to
step it up slightly next week. A Cadet help letter or
.TFR maybe.

Sovereign League XWA Battle Creation Contest

The SSSD Sovereign Squadron League coordinators are
pleased to announce a battle creation competition
leading up to the SSL 2004. The Sovereign League XWA
Battle Creation Contest runs through 12/31/2003, and
is open to all XWA mission creators in the TC.
Entrants must create a four-mission XWA battle,
absolutely without patches, for use in the SSSD
Sovereign League 2004.
The competition has four monthly rounds; each month, a
"best battle" will be selected by the Sovereign League
judges. The winner of each round will receive an
IS-GR; runner-up, IS-SR; and third place, IS-BR.
The SSL judges desire to use high-quality XWA battles
for the SSL 2004. XWA creators will construct one or
more four-mission battles (no less or more than four
missions); absolutely no patches are to be used with
the battles. Top battles will be judged by the SSL
staff, then sent off to the TAC office. The TAC has
agreed to accelerate testing and confirmation of the
winning battles so they will be available in the
compendium in time for the start of the SSL 2004 in
January. Medals awarded for this contest will be
separate from any TAC-awarded mission creation awards.
