Argh. This report is really badly delayed, I know. My apologies! Over
the weekend I have moved back into my flat on the campus.
Activity-wise, this will mean an improvement, as here I don't have a
problem with parents who have work for me right then when I just sat
down for writing a report. :)
I also have my cable back and will be on IRC more often. Sorry I wasn't
there yesterday to get the channel registered, I really couldn't make
it.

Ah well, to business! In my latest MSE, I had to hand out "Low"
activity ratings in masses, and also this report's activity list isn't
great.
That's bad guys, but I know that it's also my fault because there were
no comps going on. Todbringer has delayed the start of the Sovereign
Cup until he's managed to get the EH Battle Launcher to work, but
Imperial Storm has begun and will hopefully bring us some action soon.

To start some action ourselves and not only rely on others, we'll
engage in a nice old-fashioned inter-squad-match soon. Right on time,
Jan suggested an opponent, Talon of the Subjugator, for he has an old
friend/enemy there. :)
Thanks for the suggestion Jan, I'll get it going... and if they don't
want, I'll find someone else's butt to kick. :P

This is no reason for Shimir to freak out, as we will do this comp the
old-fashioned way, without the EHBL. That is still allowed until the
end of the month. Let's hope a Mac version will be available by then.

If you are asking what that EHBL, which I keep babbling about,
actually is, don't ask ME... because I'll kick your butt as a
response, for being totally asleep for the last week! :P
In very short, it's a launcher for TIE battles and missions (and also
for XvT and XWA). It's comfortable cos it installs the missions for
you, but it's main purpose is to make cheating through mission-editing
impossible, as the mission files are encrypted.
Head over to the EH news page, TC news page, and EH message boards and
get yourself informed. Then log into the database and download the
EHBL software which you will need for further playing EH missions and
battles.
If it works - good!
If not - try to fix it! Let us know what your problem is, I'm sure we
can fix it together.
But again, read the MB's first, there are some useful tips posted
there already.
The main problems so far are the CD detection and the absence of a Mac
version.

Last but most certainly not least, I want to express my sadness about
Zekk leaving his CMDR position - I didn't find time really to do it
earlier, so I'm including it here. We had our little differences Zekk,
but you've been a great CMDR and it's always sad to see a fine officer
of your kind leave. I hope you'll be back soon!

the EHBL have been sorted out.

Squadron Orders

- Retrieve information about the EH Battle Launcher on the news pages
and message boards, and download and install that program. Use of
this program for flying battles will be *mandatory*, so make sure
that it runs flawlessly on your machine. Do this today, not
tomorrow! It would be very bad if you would find out that it doesn't
work for you when its usage is enforced next month.
The link for the download will appear in the menu of the TC page
when you're logged in.
And when you are testing the program anyway, I'm always glad about
TFRs you may produce in the process. :P

- General Stele complained about lack of activity in his "Wing II
Mission Voting Competition" and he has extended the deadline. I know
from own experience that making up a new competition idea which no
a** is interested in is very very frustrating! So anyone experienced
in writing fiction and/or devising battle plotlines, the rules are

Don't force me to submit something myself... as I suck at fiction,
I'd come up with the first thing that would come into my mind. And
come on, an evil enemy warlord called Baal manning all his fighers
with nekkid Twi'lek girls? Unrealistic! :P
I expect the Kappa fiction writers to come up with something better
and submit it to Steley, CC'ing me.

- Proton has started the "SSSD Sovereign Killboard". As a reaction to
the "Sov Bashing" that's going on, we, the Sov pilots, have to show
those loudmouths on the other ships who deserves the bashing. That's
THEM, in case you didn't get it. :P
As a start, I will challenge Talon Squadron of the Subjugator, as
suggested by Jan. Watch this place for more info!
If one of you has a grudge against any non-Sov squad, lemme know, as
Jan did, so I can smack our durasteel feud-glove into their faces.
Also, Proton is planning to make a website for the Killboard. Link
banners, splash banners and anything else you think might be useful
for spicing up that site go to Proton at hullbreach@warpmail.net.
Deadline for this is the 20th. Good submissions will be rewarded
with Iron Stars (GR, SR and BR, you know the system :P).

- TIE95 Fix For EHBL Users Running Windows 2000/XP (AD Ender mBind)
Because, without a fix, TIE95 don't run on XP ans 2K anyway it also
doesn't when you install EHBL (even if you have already "fixed it").
CM Lenvik has made a guide on how to fix this problem however and

fairly rough, but I will be working on it... If anyone can offer any

- Mission Creation Wars - Results (FA Marcin Szydlowski)
After many months, we have finaly came to the finals, where Frodo
faced dynamic duo of Carl Lost and Viper. After testing the battles
myself, and asking my CA, to do so, we have decided that, the winner
and best battle designer of the Emperor's Hammer Mission Creation
Wars is Rear Admiral Frodo, who is being awarded with the Gold Star
of the Empire. Congratulations
Carl Lost and Viper, will both receive Silver Stars. Congrats guys.
Next MCW will start in 2004.

- Tactical Directive #2 - EHBL (FA Marcin Szydlowski)
Starting November 1st, 2003, every Emperor's Hammer pilot is ordered
to use Emperor's Hammer Battle Launcher. Any High Scores achieved
without EHBL will be rejected. Until November you have time to
report any bugs and EHBL problems to SCO and TAC, so we will fix
them quickly.

- Emperor's Hammer Battle Launcher Released! (AD Ender mBind)
After years of being in the planning and now about 10 months of work
the Tactical Office and Science Office are very proud to announce
the release of the "Emperor's Hammer Battle Launcher" - probably the
most elaborate piece of software to ever come out of the Emperor's
Hammer and one that will most definitely change your flying
experience completely.

The Launcher installs battles for you with a single click, launches
the games and adds the basic patches used in our missions, like the
"Fly All" patch for TIE Fighter. It also prevents cheating by
editing mission files, which has been a problem for the Tactical
Office since the beginning of this club.

This is now available for download once you log in to the
Administration Area of the database.
Usage is easy: After you have installed EHBL, Download battle.ehm,
click it to install the battle and press the button of whatever game
you want to play.
If you have any, report bugs on the EHBL thread on the EH
messageboard or to TAC or SCO. We're also available for regular help
of course.

Yes. I have completed Project Shield. All links have been updated.
We now wait for XO to add software download to admin section and
then you will see what Shield is.

- New game platforms available (SA Astatine)
Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, Star Wars Galaxies, Knights of the Old
Republic and Republic Commando have now been added to the platforms
list. If you own these games and want that status reflected on your
profile, login and select "Edit Profile" from the admin menu.
