- The first mission in Stele's Voting Competition is over. The result:

Kinda disappointing, guys... I would have expected a higher
participation from Kappa. If I can make it to fly for the major
competitions (and I really don't have much time atm, which can be
seen in my score), everyone of you should be able to do it, too.

- There's another inter-ship-comp coming. From the Sov Report:
SSSD Sovereign vs. the combined forces of the Intrepid and Vanguard!
That's right, the Sov is taking on our sister ships in a TIE, XvT
and XWA furball! It's called the 2003 Beer Cup:

Competition Name/Title: 2003 Beer Cup
Start Date (mm/dd/yy) : 11/1/2003
End Date (mm/dd/yy) : 11/30/2003
Parties Involved : Intrepid, Vanguard and Sovereign
Missions/Battles Used : One each TIE, XWA and XvT battles, to be
selected by the three COMs.
Medals to be Awarded : IS-GW, IS-SW and IS-BW to the top three
pilots on each side, in each division. It's
the Sov vs. the Intrepid and the Vanguard.
Miscellaneous Information:
Sov vs. Vanguard and Intrepid in TIE, XvT and XWA single-player
battles.
Top 30 pilot files on each side count toward the results in each
division. Overall score of these top 30 scores per division
determines the winner(s). Note: XvT division is Top 15 files.
TIE scoring is laserless.
Time of the comp: Nov. 1 through Nov. 30.

- The Sovereign Cup has started. Until the deadline, which is Friday
the 7th of November, the following pilots will fight to defend
Kappa's glory:
LC Tempest vs. LCM Mateusz (Group A)
COL Astarosta vs. CM Ryan Chi'Cath (Group E)
LCM Shimir Sheerelk vs. MAJ Artyis (Group H)
The mission is TIE-Free 224 (attached).
Todbringer wants us to use the EHM mission files where possible, but
if the EHBL doesn't work for you, using the zip version is also
allowed. Find it here: http://battles.tiecorps.net/old/

- Wing II vs Immortal vs Greywolf is still on. It's a combined
flying/graphics comp and ends on November 2nd.
The missions are TIE-FREE 179, XvT-FREE 70 and XWA-FREE 4 (all
attached). I expect everyone to fly at least the TIE mission, but
best would be if you'd fly as many of these missions as you can, as
every submission brings points in this comp.

Well actually, I found TIE-Free 179 uncompletable on my TIE-CD, as
the mission critical ESC YEAH never enters hyperspace, and circles
around its hyperspace point instead.
But try it at least, could be that this bug doesn't occur with your
version of TIE.

Scoring:
15 points to the Top Scorer
10 to 2nd place
5 to 3rd place
1 for participation

The same scoring system (only that 2 points will be awarded for
participation) applies for the graphics portion. The graphic must
show the Sov, Immortal, and Grey Wolf, attacking some rebels.

- Imperial Storm has entered another (the second) fighting phase.
Everybody please fly TIE-Free 149, and if you can, also XvT-Free 11
(both attached) until this (Oct 31) evening. Submissions go to
Stele, CC'ing me.

- COMM Assistant Needed (Fleet Admiral Aiden Cantor Karias)
Overview
A COMMA is needed to assist me with things such as running the EH
IRC Meeting (Saturdays at noon EST), helping with the forums, and
the COMM site.

Selection Criteria - Essential
1. Good online presence (IRC)
2. Website creation experience
3. Excellent knowledge of IRC

Selection Criteria - Desirable
1. PHP/SQL programming ability
2. TCL programming ability
3. Experience with phpBB

How to apply
You must address each selection criteria in detail, providing
supporting evidence and examples for each. Simply saying "Yes, I can
do that" will not be enough. You will need to meet at least the
Essential criteria to be considered for the position. Applications
