Welcome to the newest Kappa Squadron Report. The new semester has
started and I must say that my new timetable is a real pain. I hope it
won't affect my activity too much but... well, time will tell I guess.

On a happier note, I'm very glad that both Roasty and Algy have
reported in so that I don't have to hand out AWOL warnings. :)


Squadron News
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

- The zip versions of the battles are back and can be used until the
end of the year. Apparently, the FC himself intervened to reach this
settlement. That gives us more room to get used to the EHBL, still,
the old files will go down again Jan 1st 2004. So if the EHBL
doesn't work for you, get it to work.
Shimir and other Mac users reading this can get Reblet's Mac version
at http://www.minos.net/~ssy/EHBL.sit.

- Above-mentioned news has caused LC Todbringer to set a new starting
date for the Sovereign Cup. It will begin next Friday, October 24th.

- Imperial Storm IV is ON!

- The suggested comp against Talon is kinda cancelled for it turned
out that they don't fly TIE. Jan suggested that we could use a TIE
battle and they an XWA one, and determine the winner by comparing
the distance to the respective battle HS. This would probably work -
still it sounds like a strange method to me for comparing two squads.
If you disagree though, and want this comp to be arranged, let me
know.

- Stele has announced a comp against the wings of the Grey Wolf and
Immortal starting soon. No details yet, just that it will use all
three flying platforms.

- Zekkie's retirement has led to Theta Squadron being closed, how sad!
I see from the roster that all remaining pilots were apparently
transferred over to Sin. Even sadder! :P

attack plan, is out. Fly the mission ("Intruder Alert", attached)

hullbreach@warpmail.net) until tomorrow. Good submissions will be
rewarded with Iron Stars (GR, SR and BR).

- Old battles (FA Marcin Szydlowski)
After long discussion with Fleet Commander, we have agreed to place
old .zips on one of the mirrors. They are all located at:
http://battles.tiecorps.net/old/. All people who have EHBL problems
can download them now

But. This mirror is going offline at 1st January 2004, so after that
time you will only have .ehm files and you WILL HAVE TO use EHBL.
You have 3.5 months to solve any EHBL problems you encounter. Mail
TAC, SCO, CA:SCO and we will help you.

So. You have .zips back, make EHBL working on your computers, and
.zips are going offline on January 1st.


- VA Reaper Appointed New CA:FO (FA Cyric)
After careful consideration I have decided to appoint Col Reaper,
Former FOA, as the new CA to the Flight Office.
He will handle all recruit processing, sqaudron management, Banners,
and Reports.

- Wing Commander for WING IX sought (FA Cyric)
RA BubbaX is looking for qualified applicants for the positions of
WC for Wing IX.
The Requirements are as follows:

- Must have held a successful tour as a CMDR for at least 4 months
- No HCI convictions ever for Conduct Unbecoming
- Familiarity with XWA (TIE and XvT as well preferably)
- Familiarity with the ISD Relentless Ship Standing Orders
- Significant IRC prescence
- Quick email and admin accountability
- Desire, knowledge and responsibility of and for running internal
competitions
