Phantom Squadron Report Captain Aeolus reporting in for Phantom Squadron on Nov. 9th, 2003, Greetings everyone. Got some good news and some bad as far as real life is concerned. Good news first, the Ducks won against Cal! Then, the new Matrix movie wasn't all that bad, and then in bad news my graphics drivers on my computer were, as Rise of Nations put it "invalid". Then an IRC trojan virus was unleashed and caused havoc on every front. Six hours and a reformat later my computer is squeakly clean and happy as a butterfly. Whatever that means, anyways... you probably don't care so lets get on with todays report!
In Fleet News:
- A new FOA was chosen. A congrats out to LC Styles who is the new Flight Office lacky.
- Last week a new TIE Fighter patch was released but this week it is for the Balance of Power expansion on X-Wing vs Tie Fighter as well as for X-Wing vs Tie Fighter itself. For those who play this the patch is available at the science office webpage.
- The Vanguard needs a new webpage and they have called on the entire Fleet to get themselves one. The competition details can be found here: http://www.emperorshammer.net/competitions/details.asp?ID=1079
- The Star Wars Trilogy has been set for release on Sept. 9th in DVD format. Meaning I no longer have to go to my TV and put it into my VCR to watch it every Saturday. *grin*
- The CA:TAC resigned this past week. I've heard that Vice Admiral Philo has done some great work. Good luck to him in the future.
- Lastly, for you XvT users, XvT TC #28 has been rereleased for your flying pleasures, enjoy.
In Wing News and Activities:
- Phantom Squadron was Squadron of the Month for October. I owe my thanks mostly to the previous commander, LC Boliv for this. But I congratulate every one of you on this acheivement. I only hope we can keep this honor through the busy holiday seasons. *salute*
- The Commodores protector for October was Major Mosh, congratulations to him and may he keep our fearless leader safe.
- The Great Wing Bash is over this past week and results are out. We got second place. Which isn't bad. Congratulations to LCM Ryan who got the high score in XWA. Great work to him as he has an IS-GW coming to him for his acheivements. Also an IS-SW coming to Nuno for his second placement in XWA as well. I got the low score, you all have permission to request drinks of me for this. Maybe I won't get last next time.
- Locke is on leave and during his leave LC Boliv is A:COM.
In Squadron News and Activities:
- A new competition is out. The Phantom Mottos competition. If you have some spare time come up with some mottos and earn some medals. I believe the nicknames go with the mottos. I guess that's a detail that needs to be worked out.
- While we got Squadron of the Month for October. It's time to start working on November. Good luck to everyone!
- I am working on some flying competitions. Not necessarily with other squadrons at this time but I'll definitly look into it. If anybody has recommendations feel free to share them.
- Tygra is doing great work with citation assignments. Pay attention to these and help the squadron earn new citations. The information is available in Tygra's XO report each week.
