Good morning all. It's been an exciting week for Echo Squadron! First, a big welcome to SL Thomas O'deevs who joins us from the platform Daedalus. Glad to have you aboard and may your experience in the Corps somehow aid you in RL--it has mine.
Remember to come visit me on IRC in #isdvanguard or #ehcoc--I'm on quite a bit.

Rant: Many pilots remain inactive. This wouldn't be so bad, except that they have not contacted me since I became the CMDR of Echo Squadron. :( I wonder why you signed on... I hate to do it, but know that I will. All it takes is an email to avoid getting AWOLed

Remember that your activity level earns you Pilot of the Week standing and that leads to medals. This past week, I won. :P

Recruitment is a big deal these days peeps. Some of you are in school and where there is school there are lots of friends from which to recruit fellow FM's for Echo Squadron and for the mighty ISD Vanguard.

Squadron Status

• Be reminded that a squadron email group exists... You may communicate with the squadron easily and simply by sending mail to echo-squadron@yahoogroups.com.
• The Squadron homepage has been released and its link has been posted on the roster page. Thanks for all your help and advice--end sarcasm. Anyway, you can view this report and a few past reports there (good for our newest member to see what's been going on in the squadron). You can view the TC and EH news from there as well. There is also a comps page, a roster page, and of course the main page contains recent news. Various other links will speed you aroung the EH and there are more to come so keep watching.
  I think it is a decent looking site and quite functional. In case you haven't been reading my reports--all submitted graphics, etc. are considered as activity and will be rewarded as such based on their merit. You may view the website here. Make it your homepage!

Note: I mentioned in a previous report, and I quote, "Inactive is a pretty harsh word unless it fits, especially in light of the many RL commitments that we all have. Please don't be offended by it. It is simply one week passing where my inbox remains empty. Don't let the word discourage you--it doesn't discourage me." I am starting to rethink my position on this.

Current Competitions

• No squadron comps at this time aside from the Pilot of the Week.
• Vanflying Comps involve XWA-TC #27, XvT-TC #78, TIE-TC #210, and TIE-TC #212. High Scores from those that submit pilots win medals and you have until December 25th to get your pilot files in.
• SickMans Silly Xmas Comps run until December 25th--IS-BR for every submitting pilot and an IS-SR for the best overall submission:
  • COMP#1 Sicky needs new Ship, yep the old booze-hound has been VANCOM over a year now and wants a new ship and a new name for her, so get thinking and sent your idea's to the drunk, IS-BR to the winner!
  • COMP#2 Ye Christmas Tale, write a sicky a yule tide Christmas tale, about anything, life on the VAN, that Star Wars story you've been itching to write.......anything, IS-SR to the best, IS-BR to the runner-up
  • COMP#3 Sicky needs a office for the VAN Website, you graphics dudes get to work, think of what Sickys office would look like and make a drawing/graphic that will be displayed on the website, IS-SR to the winner
  • COMP#4 More Graphics!!!!! Banners, buttons, little flashy thingys, pictures,anything and everything is needed for the website, i want this website to have a bit of something from everyone, you got a cool drawings graphic? send it to Sicky, it WILL be displayed on the website:)
• Beat your WC in armed combat. The winningmost pilot competing against our beloved WC will win honor and prestige above all other pilots in the wing--and they will prolly win a medal too. I think that the last time I challenged the WC, he had to go to the can or something... :P
• WoW's are going on at the zone two weeks out of every month. They are a blast when the EH participates so consider that as an avenue for activity. Contact me for more details.
