CMDR/MAJ Ric Taldrya/Hunter/Wing XVIII/SSD Avenger
Major Ric Taldrya walked down the corridor towards the pilot briefing room, under one arm was a file folder full of information for his pilots. It didn't seem possible that it had been two months since assuming command, sometimes it didn't seem that long, and others it seemed way longer.
The latest reports showed that the level of fighting in the sector was minimal. Taldrya checked over his roster and he still had two pilots on leave for the time being. The others had shown a bit of action in the last week, and two that were MIA.
The door to the briefing room opened, he entered still glancing down at his paperwork. When he looked up, the room was empty. Taldrya stared for a moment and was bewildered that his pilots were not where they were supposed to be. He grabbed his comlink, flipped it on.
"Hunter Squadron pilots, report to the briefing room," he tried to keep the anger from his voice but couldn't quite do it.
"Major Taldrya, report to the Staff Officers Briefing Room," LC DT Hammer replied on the Hunter squadron frequency.
Hammer never used the Hunter channel unless it was an emergency. He began to get worried that Tecluse, Nova, and Erasmus had decided to do something and got in trouble. He almost ran to the turbolift and slapped the button to take him the upper levels of the Super Star Destroyer. It only took a minute or so to get there, but that time felt like a million years and all the scenarios ran thru his mind all had been bad.
The door opened and he started towards the briefing room. He had been here during mission planning a few times, the large room could accomadate the entire cadre of squadron commanders, the Commodores, and all ships captains plus their support staffs easily.
The door opened and he entered, noticing that almost every chair was filled. He was at a loss for words, not knowing what was going on. When he entered, he heard the voice of LC Hammer.
"Major Taldrya, Front and Center," he called.
Taldrya made his way to the front and reported to the Wing Commander. Hammer took a step to the side and fell in line beside him. Taldrya watched as Vice Admiral Anthol and Admiral Khaen stepped up.
"Major Taldyra, for oustanding courage in the face of the enemy. For always looking out for the welfare of your pilots and doing your best to make sure that they stay alive, you are hearby awarded a Silver Star of the Empire. You are a credit to Hunter Squadron, Wing XVIII, and the Avenger. Congratulations Major," Anthol read the order as Khaen pinned his medal on him. Taldrya shook their hands and felt a happy rush flow thru him.
Suddenly, alarms began to ring and the CIC began to announce enemy ships had entered the sector. It was time to get back to work...

CMDRS Rant-
It seems that this time of year always sees a slump in activity. We have a few comps going that really need submissions for, like the Big Bad Wing XVIII War. If Rage and Butcher beat us then they are going to gloat about it. I don’t want to see that happen.
Also this week I was awarded with the Silver Star of the Empire. I have been trying to win one of these since I first got a Bronze Star. I’d like to say thanks to the Command Staff for this medal, you know who you are :D
