MAJ Picard Reporting

Salute
Today its 6 december that means the birthday of St. Nicholas, this day the good old man brings present to the good childeren (at least in Belgium and The Netherlands, I dont about the rest of world).
St. Nicholas has also come to the Grey Wolf to give you all a small present, the new Valkyrie WSR.
Have fun with it.

Fiction

MAJ Picard was walking in the Hangar bay, everywhere their were people busy, pilots trying new things on their fighters, technicians reparing damaged ships or replacing parts.
Its was over two weeks since the last engament and most of the pilots onboard were bore to death, MAJ Picard was not an exception. He had a feeling that this day wasn't going any different then the last couple of days.
Finally he entered the Valkyrie part of the Hangar bay, that was complety empty, except some technicians and CPT Kael who, hearing on the noice that came out of his ship, was working on his sound system his gunboat.
He took a look at his gunboat, shouted a couple of times to CPT Kael, without any luck and gave up.
MAJ Picard turned arround and went back to the exit of the hangar bay trying to decide what he would do, spent some hours in the combat simulator or hanging arround at the cantina, when suddenly the Scramble signal went off. The Grey Wolf was under attack. From everywhere people entered the Hangar bay and start preparing the fighter. MAJ Picard knew that it was standard procedure the launch first the squadron that was on Stand-By. Today it was Vortex sqaudron, in the noice he heard that the launch bays were opening and with a smaal shock the first fighter was launced.

MAJ Picard had about one minute the get his flight suit and to get back to his gunboat. He ran as fast he can to the Valkyrie dressing room, most of the Valkyrie pilots were already inside. He saw LCM Valin Drago and shouted: "What is going on outside ?". Drago didn't say anything but on the looks on his face MAJ Picard knew that he didn't know what was happening.

He jumped in his flight suit and went back to his Gunboat, climed in it and turned on the all systems.
Then switch on the intercom and spoke in it: " Valkyrie report in !".
-"This is Valkyrie 3-1, CPT Kael reporting in"
-"This is Valkyrie 1-3, LT Jansen reporting in"
-MAJ Picard heard Valin Drago say: " This is Valkyrie 2-1, then a sound signal and then the voice of VA Sarin came on the speaker.
-" Attention Valkyrie, this is VA Sarin, we are currently under attack by Rebels, your mission is to take out the 3 capital ships, 2 corvettes and 1 Calamari cruiser. First take out the two Corvettes that are on an intercept course with the Grey Wolf, then the Calamari cruiser. Phoenix Squadron will give you cover.
You will be launced in one minut, get ready and May the Force be with you.
Sarin out."

MAJ Picard looked outside and saw the technicians where heading away from his gunboat, that meaned that the would be launch very soon. He turned his intercom back on: "He are the plans flight 1 will take out the first corvette, flight 3 the second corvette. Flight 2 will engage the Calamari cruiser, as soon as the two corvettes are destroyed flight 1 and 3 will also engage the cruiser.
Get ready for launch and good luck Valkyrie.".

"This is lauch control, you will be Valkyrie flight 1 you will be launced in 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1, Launch. Picard felt a small shiver when the Gunboat entered open space. He gave full throttle, targetted the first Corvette and switched to Torpedoes. He heard the familiar sound when the computer was targetting the corvette.
He shouted in the intercom: "Target locked, Torpedoes away !!"
- "This is Frasc Hawau firing 2 torpedoes."
And with a giant fireball the first corvette was destroyed.
MAJ Picard took a turn from 180 degrees and was just in time to see the second corvette blew up, on the same time he heard CPT Kael through the intercom: " Second corvette destroyed."

"This is COL Klick Sabre, help me out, I have a Awing on my tail !", before anyone from Valkyrie could respond, Picard heard a familiar voice:
-"This is MAJ Choosh I am on the Awing. Valkyrie take out that Cruiser, we will cover you ."
-"You heard the man, lets take out that Rebel cruiser, everyone switch to torprodoes and fire at will !!" shouted MAJ Picard in the intercom.
-" This is LCM WaterWalker, target locked, torpedoes away"
MAJ Picard fired all his torpedoes and saw that the space between Valkyrie squadron and the cruiser was filled with small blue dots moving towards the cruiser. He looked at his HUD and saw that shields and hull from the cruiser were dropping with every new torpedo hit but the hull didnt get to zero.

-"Damm we still need some torpedoes for destroying the cruiser, anyone have some torpedoes left !!", Picard shouted, but no one responded.
-" This is Gilad, Valkyrie destroy that cruiser before it gets away, its powering up his hyperdrive!!"
For a moment MAJ Picard was thinking what he should do, then he shouted: "I am going in to finish off the cruiser with lasers and ions, Drago and Kael you are with me, rest of the squad cover us."
MAJ Picard turned his ship toward the cruiser, switched to laser and gave full throttle when he saw an unfamliar gunboat firing six torpedoes towards the cruiser.
-"Unidentify Gunboat, report in "
-"This is Valkyrie 3-1, LCM Mitim Tsaexin reporting sir. I thought you could use some torpedoes."

MAJ Picard felt a shiver when the torpedoes hit the cruiser and explode in a big firework, " We sure do, Welkom to Valkyrie LCM Tsaexin, I hope you enjoy your stay here."
-"Thank you, sir": Tsaexin responded.
-"This is Gilad, good work Valkyrie, now help the rest to clear out this sector from those rebels, Gilad out."

It was a nice day after all.
