Echo Squadron Report

CM Machinari reporting: Friday • December 5 • 2003
Find this report online

Good morning all. It's been another wonderful week in the corps! Of special note, the Sov had her butt kicked in the XvT and XWA divisions of the Beer Cup! In other good news, and more immediate news, we had a promotion in our ranks this past week: LT Ace Fighter has been promoted to LCM for his very consistent activity and excellent attitude towards the TC in general. ConGratz LCM!
Remember to come visit me on IRC in #isdvanguard or #ehcoc--I'm on quite a bit.

Rant: SL's remain inactive. I should say SL--singular. This past week we saw SL Nike whatever get AWOLed for lack of activity. He was also insubordinate to a flag officer, which served to get things done that much quicker--doesn't look good in so many ways. SL Julias Malafides, look here for details and let's talk about it. :P

I hate to do it, but you know I will--you've seen my resolve. I don't want to AWOL anymore peeps from our ranks, but I just may have to. The next in line is SL Julius if he doesn't get in contact with me. While I'm on this topic, let's discuss flight leaders. I have a potential flight leader position opening up and if you are interested in gaining prestige and greater opportunity for advancement in the TC, let me know. Active members only. Hmmm... Wonder who I might be talking about. :P

One more thing--here are the requirements for Echo Pilot of the Week: highest activity level with minimum 2 battles flown or the equivalent to be measured by me. Winning PoW doesn't earn you any medals right off the bat, but win enough of them and I'll have no choice but to award a really nifty and shiny piece of html or even a promotion--the point is that winning PoW looks good on you when it comes time for the monthly squadron evaluation and subsequent recommendations. :P

Recruitment is a big deal these days peeps. Some of you are in school and where there is school there are lots of friends from which to recruit fellow FM's for Echo Squadron and for the mighty ISD Vanguard.

On to business...

Squadron Status

  • Be reminded that a squadron email group exists... You may communicate with the squadron easily and simply by sending mail to echo-squadron@yahoogroups.com.
  • The Squadron homepage is still in the works and its address will be posted on the roster page as soon as it resembles something like a web site. Please send me your ideas, graphics, script, etc., whatever may help in the building of your squadron homepage. So far I've had no input from anyone in Echo. All submissions are considered as activity and may be rewarded as such based on their merit. Until it's official release you may view my slow progress here
  • It's raining here still.
  • Echo Squadron stands currently at 7 pilots.
  • We hold 8 citations currently.
  • Activity sucks. but hey, Christmas is coming!

Current Competitions

  • No squadron comps at this time aside from the Pilot of the Week, which nobody has earned this past week. Look for a change here in the near future.
  • Vanflying Comps involve XWA-TC #27, XvT-TC #78, TIE-TC #210, and TIE-TC #212. High Scores from those that submit pilots win medals and you have until December 25th to get your pilot files in.
  • Beat your WC in armed combat. The winningmost pilot competing against our beloved WC will win honor and prestige above all other pilots in the wing--and they will prolly win a medal too. I think that the last time I challenged the WC, he had to go to the can or something... :P
  • WoW's are going on at the zone two weeks out of every month. They are a blast when the EH participates so consider that as an avenue for activity. Contact me for more details.

EH Census: Update
23:14 - AD Darknyte [darknyte@alltel.net]

So far I'd like to state that the Logistics Staff has been very pleased with the response we've gotten thusfar from the EH Census project.

With that in mind I'd like to remind everyone that new questions are still being added periodically and that we'd greatly appreciate it if participants could make an effort to try to login at least once per week until the Census has been completed.

This will allow all members to answer questions that have been added since they initially took the Census. Already I know we've added around 10-15 questions in various areas, and more are still coming as support for the Census grows and more officers request questions added.

If anyone knows a question that should be added, please email the Logistics Officer with your questions so we can evaluate and add them as needed.

Again, thank you all for making this project a success!

EH Census
21:22 - AD Darknyte [darknyte@alltel.net]

The EH Census is finally ready for the Fleet to take part in. If you've kept up with my reports you know that I feel this will be a great tool for those of us in leadership roles in the EH to more accurately gauge what the membership would like to get out of their experience in the club.

All members of the EH are encouraged to participate and asked to please answer all questions with honesty. There are a few regarding thoughts on senior officers, and we assure you that your private information will never be made public, so you may answer without fear of reproach.

The Census can be found at http://cosmic.nailed.org/census.

Thanks in advance for your participation and desire to help us make the EH a better place for everyone.
