Good morning everybody--take your seats and quiet down. First, a big welcome to LT Shagen who joins us from the ISD Intrepid. Glad to have you aboard and may your experience on the Vanguard be full of shiny pieces of html.
Remember to come visit me on IRC in #isdvanguard or #ehcoc--I'm on quite a bit.

Rant: As Usual, many pilots remain inactive. I am not going to discuss this again this week. I am, rather, just going to go log in and AWOL another pilot. If you want to now who it will be, check out the roster tomorrow. :( Remember that your activity level earns you Pilot of the Week standing and that leads to medals. This past week, I won again. :P

Recruitment is a big deal these days peeps. Some of you are in school and where there is school there are lots of friends from which to recruit fellow FM's for Echo Squadron and for the mighty ISD Vanguard.

On to business...

Squadron Status

• Be reminded that a squadron email group exists... You may communicate with the squadron easily and simply by sending mail to echo-squadron@yahoogroups.com.
• The Squadron homepage, which was released last week has undergone some minor behind-the-scenes changes that nobody will notice. I spent many hours bug fixing. Go make it your homepage and let me know what you would like to see there, and I will see what I can do. Our newest member, LT Shagen, has already submitted many good ideas with respect to the layout--much appreciated and keep it up. Submit graphics for the site. All will be displayed and all will be rewarded based on their merit. You may view the website here.
• Echo Squadron's new message board is online and can be found here. Go Post!
• Echo Squadron stands currently at 9 pilots--until tommorow or the next day when another one bites the dust. I am also looking for a quality pilot to fill a flight leader spot. No need to apply as I've already been in contact with two potentials and will let you know as soon as I do.
• We hold 3 squadron citations currently--until tomorrow.
• Activity sucks. Meet me on IRC and we'll combat it out.

Note: SL Julius will soon be gone very quickly, however, be aware that we are not able to gain any more SL's until our flight leader spot is filled. I would like to fill it with one of our own, but thus far no one has shown proper activity levels to even be considered--something to think about.

Current Competitions

• No squadron comps at this time aside from the Pilot of the Week.
• Vanflying Comps involve XWA-TC #27, XvT-TC #78, TIE-TC #210, and TIE-TC #212. High Scores from those that submit pilots win medals and you have until December 25th to get your pilot files in.
• SickMans Silly Xmas Comps run until December 25th--IS-BR for every submitting pilot and an IS-SR for the best overall submission. Visit the Wing XV homepage for details.
• Beat your WC in armed combat. The winningmost pilot competing against our beloved WC will win honor and prestige above all other pilots in the wing--and they will prolly win a medal too. I think that the last time I challenged the WC, he had to go to the can or something... :P
• WoW's are going on at the zone two weeks out of every month. They are a blast when the EH participates so consider that as an avenue for activity. Contact me for more details.
• Your WC has created a number of silly comps that involve getting the lowest score on various battles. See your weekly WC report for details.
