"If you women knew what we were thinking, you'd never stop slapping us."
- Larry Miller

Major Vladet Xavier frowned as a stray laser bolt struck his TIE Interceptor in the starboard wing. Executing a quick Segnor's Loop, he saw his attacker streaking towards his wingmate, firing. Goosing the throttle, he nudged his stick so that the targeting recticle in front of him was placed over the rear hull of the enemy Interceptor. His recticle turned green, and a steady tone filled the cockpit. Major Xavier squeezed the trigger on his flight yoke, sending angry neon green laser bolts towards the enemy fighter. They stabbed into the engines of the fighter and created a shower of sparks; another easy kill. However, the enemy Interceptor mysteriously vanished, and Vlad's wingman was suddenly dead; his Interceptor in pieces, floating away without control. Biting his lower lip in frustration, he glanced at his sensors to find that same Interceptor closing in behind him.

With the flick of a thumb, his cut his throttle to 33% and put his laser energy to engines. Spinning his fighter quickly while adjusting his fire control rate, he managed a hasty quad laser shot that went wide left of the enemy fighter. Bracing himself for the worst, his cockpit chimed, signifying a kill. Vladet blinked when the enemy Interceptor's hull passed by him, gushing small bits of metal and sizzling with electricity.

Only one left ... Shunting power to his lasers again, he brought his throttle up to full power and took a glance at his sensors again. The enemy's wingman was two klicks out and closing fast. Another flick of the thumb switched his fire control to stutter-fire, which would fire his laser cannons at a fast, low-powered rate; enough to make him scared.

Spraying random fire towards his opponent, Vladet glanced at his CMD, noticing that two lasers hit their mark; the enemy Interceptor was now trailing smoke. Grinning despite himself, Vladet executed a corkscrew manuever and ended up directly behind the damaged starfighter. The Major set his fire control to quad lasers, as he wanted his kill to be clean. With his recticle over the enemy's Interceptor, he fired one clean quad laser burst, which nailed the enemy starfighter entirely. It vanished, and Vladet smiled. Making a slow, graceful arc, he was surprised to see his enemy laser lock light flash. Eyes wide, his saw on his sensors the same Interceptor behind him, and before he knew it, his starfighter exploded.

The simulator's cockpit opened, revealing a frustrated Vladet Xavier. Lifting himself out of the cockpit, he kicked the simulator's side, forming a small dent along with hundreds of other tiny marks. "Damn lag." he muttered as he walked towards his quarters.

From the Commander's Office

Happy New Year! With a new year comes a new squadron banner (see above), and some changes to the WSR. First, huge thanks to Tiamat over in Vortex for the banner. It's beyond awesome. Imperial Security Medal for him! The month of December was fairly productive in terms of activity for two pilots (once being myself). Myself doing the multi-player thing, while Commander Caine was racking up FCHG points in the single-player side. Very nice.

Vlad's Easter Egg Hunt II is now underway. Details for the competition can be found here. There are some major changes from the first Egg Hunt, so be sure to read the instructions carefully.

Commander Caine won the "FCHG Train" and "Back to School" comps for the month of January, which entitles him to the Bronze varities of Wings and Ribbons.

Check out the Squadron Website for updated news, and stupid little things here and there that are somewhat funny and hilarious. Do it. Now. Yeah, just click the link. Shut up and do it.

Wolfpack News

After some deliberation with Admiral Darksaber, Rear Admiral Pellaeon has decided that Major Pickled Yoda is the new Wing Commander. As you can plainly see, the GWSOoM has now reached flag status. Be scared.

Gilad has started a Week of War incentive. Basically, the top Wing XIII finisher in XWA or XvT WoW will snag an IS-SW, while the runner up shall recieve a IS-BW.

As usual, a bunch of Iron Star competitions are running (FCHG, fiction, trivia, etc) on the Wing level. Glance at Gilad's or Yoda's reports to find out more information on these easy medals.

Fleet News

XWA Week of War ended today, and I must say the Emperor's Hammer had a piss poor showing. I mean when you're the internet's largest Star Wars gaming club, you think you'd have more than eight pilots on the Zone representing the club. Maybe this is why the EH/TC is losing membership, hmmm? Anyway, the EH snagged a whopping 6th place overall in the club standings. I snagged 6th overall for players. Not too shabby, eh?

The EH will celebrate it's 9th year anniversary sometime next week, which means Commendations of Loyalty (CoL) need awarding. Three Wing members shall recieve these bi-annual medals, so those who are loyal and active, shall reap the rewards (lame, yes I know).

Applications for the EH Communications Officer (COMM) are still being accepted. Send your apps to the Fleet Commander (Ronin) and Executive Officer (Astatine). If you want to see the Fleet's most un-dedicated Flag officer, look no further than Rear Admiral BubbaX, who has applied for the position. In fact, he's applied for every CS/Advisor/SGCOM job except for Combat Operations Officer! Amazing!

The Flight Officer needs to close down 3 Wing V squads and put a CMDR in Test Squadron so they don't show up in the 'Command Openings' page. Hey Reeves (CA:FO), since you're in charge of reading these, why don't you tell him, eh? Thanks.

Just a reminder that multi-player comps are held in Undernet channel #ehcoc. So go fly and boost your Combat Rating. There is talk of a CR badge for your uniform, so you want one of those ... right? Anyway, XvT Week of War starts up in like 3 weeks, so get ready for that.

Commander's Forum

Hope your New Year's Eve experience was cool, because I know mine was awesome (the parts I remember from it, anyway). Just a reminder that Supremacy Comp. VI is coming up fast, so shake that dust off your joystick and prepare to do battle!

Remember people, as I have mentioned before: This is a multi-player ship and battlegroup. While flying multi-player is not mandatory (and I certainly won't make you do it), that is what we're here for. Plus, it's far more fun than single-player, especially when we have 2v2s and 3v3s. Trust me, it's a blast.

Squadron Citations Corner

Crusader Squadron currently has a whopping 17 citations. This slight increase is due to Commander Caine joining up, which is cool. More citations to come no doubt.

In service of the Emperor's Hammer!
