CMDRs Rantings-

SC:V is now under way as you know. By now you should know what you need to be doing to get points. If not than you will need to email me and I will answer any questions you may have.

Fair warning to you all, I was here for the last SC comp, SC:IV, as was CM Vessicant and he can tell you this too, All pilots who didn’t contribute a single point to the SC:IV were removed at the end of the month by the then WC Wil Striker. Since He is now COM if you think that he may not do it again then you are in for a surprise. I want all my pilots I have now to survive after the SC:V comp but it is up to you to participate. The SC comp is our main comp for the ASF, all others are more or less practice for this. Consider it this way, the SC comp to us is like the Great Jedi War is to the DB. Very big and very Important. GO FLY NOW

There is no point to not having a point or 30 by now. All pilots are required to participate in the SC:V comp, even if you can’t fly missions then you can write fiction, create graphics, design a webpage, even submit some trivia questions. There will be very few acceptable excuses for non activity.  One is that you have died and the other is the Y2K virus has finally caught up with us. But seriously, if there are problems, either comp or RL then let me know asap.  GO MAKE A GRAPHIC NOW

You must remember why you joined a squadron in the first place. Did you join to just hold down a spot? To sit Idle while a few actually score points? To be the object of ridicule and emails saying come on and do something? I didn’t join for those reasons. I joined to Have Fun and Participate in everything I could.  If any of you joined for the reasons listed above then let me know. Come on out and support your Squadron, Wing and Ship. GO WRITE FICTION NOW

On another note, LCM Justin has been transferred to Krayt to act as their new FL. I know that we will miss him around the squad room but we wish him luck in his new position and squad. GO DO SOMETHING ON THE LIST NOW

Logistics Officer Open For Applications
23:26 - SA Astatine [jpboyce@indigo.net.au]
Overview - The LO primarily acts as the EH archivalist, ensuring that certain materials such as newsletters and the EH codex are up to date and accessable at all times. Technical ability and an eye to detail in maintaining these archives are key attributes for the position. The Logistics Officer is also responsible for content in the newsletter, such as book/game reviews, etc.

Selection Criteria - Essential
1. Good written communication skills
2. An acceptable level of presence in online media such as IRC, message boards, etc.
3. Fast Email response time
4. The ability to work with a wide range of EH personnel, including the Executive Officer
5. The ability to work to extreme deadlines

Selection Criteria - Desirable
1. HTML experience (ASP/PHP is a bonus)
2. Awareness of Star Wars events and happenings outside the EH

Immediate duties for the successful candidate will include the updating of the EH Codex and other historical archives, as well as the acquisition of webspace to host the various files from.

You must address each criteria with supporting evidence. Simply saying "Yes, I can do that" will not be enough. Include specific examples of your experience. You should meet at least the essential criteria to be considered for the position. You will be expected to perform the core duties as listed and if you are unwilling to perform them, don't waste time by applying. You must include at least three (3) references. If it is found out that you did not gain permission, this will reflect upon your application in a negative light.  Final thoughts-

Let’s go Cobra Squadron. I am challenging each of you to score more points in the SC:V race than I do. I have a very full scheduale and I am scoring more points than most of my pilots. It should be the other way around, Let’s get busy because I also want to catch Krayt . They have 3 members that have been active and they are way ahead of us in the points standings. Do you want to get beat by a squadron of three? I sure, don’t but I can’t do it alone so let’s get busy.
