Viper Squadron's Report #6, 12/13/02
CMDR's Thoughts
Again several things happened this week. As I announced in earlier mails, CPT Paul transfered to the Reserves leaving some open spots in Viper. He has been the longest member in Viper, lead Flight 3, was our Citation Officer and was our Chief Homepage Officer. If you are interested drop me a line. I will announce the new Flight Leader on Sunday so you have time 'till tomorrow midnight(CET) to apply. Creating a new homepage isn't an easy task and I understand that you might not want to do it all by yourself. Same thing with me, my html skills are limited and I'm not sure if I can make a good page all by myself. I hope some of you might help me with it. At work I have engough space to put it on the www.Not only Paul has left the Intrepid, a lot of changes happend in wing14 the last weeks and we are down to 47 pilots. This fact is annoying and thats why we all should put some effort in recruiting. Post on the recruitment board, mail your helpoffers to cadets or try to get some veterans off the Phoenix. We need more pilots to have even more fun!
When you are reading this report, I want that you hit the 'reply' button and just write 'check-in' or something like this. This will cost you 20 seconds and is very easy! The reason beyond this is, the Commodore and WingCommander want to get sure all current pilots are alive and willing to support the wing. Wing Competitions are planned and the Agressor Strike Force Supremacy Comp V (ASF SC V) is coming aswell, where the flagship of the ASF will be declared. We have won the title this year and want to earn the honor next year too. I know that some of you have finals now and can't participate as they want to. Thats ok for now, the finals won't last forever. BTW, if you haven't replied that, just do it before you continue to read the report ;).
I'd like all who showed little activity in our current competitions to change that!! A competition is for many people and the best gets a reward. It's no sense that only one or two participates. You make it to easy for these if you do not compete aswell.
Some stats, CPT John Clark has send in all four battles for the Asp vs Viper Comp!! great work John. Chris and Tatsu have still one battle completed. It's important that we all fly those battles, due to Pauls transfer we have lost 12(!!) citations. I hope that will change soon and we got back our 2nd position in Citations in wing14!.
The Viper Top Ace Comp isn't going so well too. I am still the only one who flew the assigned battle for this comp(XvT TC#17). I know some of you had problems with it. If I am the only one who completed this battle, I won't count it for the comp and the 2nd battle will be the important one!. The MP segment changed a little, coz your Commander did some MP. It hasn't appeared in my profile but I can tell you that I won 3 matches and lost one. That means I am at 7points atm. I looked the profiles to determine if some of you flew too, but I couldn't see anything. I'm not sure if your profiles haven't been updated aswell or if no one competed in MP this week. The ASF stands for MP so I'd like you all see more at #ehcoc and do some flying. If you need help or want tips/advise just mail me!.
I have never been a good storyteller, but all Commanders have been asked to start a runon on their MB's. App 3weeks late I started a runon on the Viper MB and would like you all to post aswell. It might become a good story and we can make a battle out of it. Sounds good, eh? So go posting. If you don't have an account at ehnet.org you should create one as soon as possible. Again, if you need help just mail me(or bug your FlightLeader =P ).

* ISD Immortal COM's Escort Squadron The ISD Immortal's COM Escort award for the month of December goes to Phantom Squadron . By pulling together and working as a team on the recent Immortal Tactical Scenario, they have earned this award. Congratulations!* Emperor's Hammer 8th Anniversary Awards As emailed from the Operations Officer... January 7th is the EH Anniversary (8 years, hooya!) so that means, Awards! The Commendation of Loyalty is awarded all members of the Emperor's Hammer by the Fleet Commander or Executive Officer who have displayed tremendous dedication to the Fleet. Each squadron commander can send any number of recommendations for awards to their respective Wing Commander. The Wing Commander chooses three (3) awards. Then these recommendations are forwarded up the chain of command to the respective Commodores and Battlegroup Commanders, making any possible corrections. Then the Battlegroup Commander collects the recommendations for his Battlegroup, and emails them to the Operations Officer, CC'ing the Flight Officer. Also, each Battlegroup Commander has the discretion to award a maximum of three (3) awards to his Flag Officers. For Elite Squadrons (Avenger, Praetorian, Tau, and Omega), the commander can recommend up to one (1) award to their Battlegroup Commander (Omega - SovCOM, Avenger - ASF BGCOM), in the case of Praetorian and Tau Squadron, the CMDR will directly email the Operations Officer, also CC'ing the Flight Officer.

* CM Praetorian left the Intrepid to take over Python Squadron aboard the Vanguard. Congrats mate =)* Our WingCommander is busy planning, expect some action the next time! A trivia seems to come very soon, so get your brains on.
