Weekly Report #2

[SALUTE]

Good morning pilots welcome to this week’s report from Wing VI .

It’s been kind of quiet since my return to the ship, thanks to those that wished me well and a large raspberry to that urchin of the reserves Talons Pryde for not noticing I’d been away, (see I knew no-one ever read my reports).

So not a lot to be said Wing wise apart from I’ve been sorting out the Wing information on the TC site so a not very brilliant Wing banner has appeared along with the Wing details and Motto. I’m also attempting to get the Wing VI website up and running again. I wish I’d not made so many mentions of the Lady S in it now, took me until 3am this morning to tidy that lot up and get it ready only to find my computer has had a malware infection and I’m getting odd pop-ups. Auto-repair bots are hunting down the miscreant as I type!

I’ll get the rest of it finished later today/tomorrow.

You can find it here

feel free to offer bug-finds, errors and more importantly contributions to make it better.

ISD Warrior Back story

I mentioned that I’d like everyone to have an involvement in creating the back story to the Warrior so I can get it approved and then put onto the website.

So far everyone that has emailed me likes the idea that the Warrior isn’t a new ship that rolled out of the Aurorean shipyards but is an older ship that has some kind of chequered past so I’m offering a couple of suggestions. Are we:

a) A captured enemy ship that has been recommisioned/refurbished by the EH, if so what enemy?
b) An EH ship of the line that had been mothballed in a secret storage area, (probably not far from Enders “The Luggage” if you’ve read that story) because of a historic incident, if so what happened and why.
c) Something entirely different?

I’d like to get a general feeling of where we want to go with this so I can set up a competition that you can all vote on to decide our past. From then on our future is in our own hands. Post away on this mailing list so I can get a start that we can all work from.

Other News

Main TC news can be found here

http://tc.emperorshammer.org/news.php

I’m not going to copy and past it all for you as you should be visiting regularly anyway!

Anyway; as you are all no doubt aware FA Dempsey has sorted out the TIE Corps database which is still active. Go to

http://tc.emperorshammer.org/admin.php

…and do what you know to do to gain access and sort out your kit. I’ve redone my uniform, (now if only we could make it an automatic update again) and submitted it so there’s no excuse for you lot. All you have to do is enter the information manually, if you’re too lazy to do that be clever enough to fix the automatic updater thingy and tell me how to do it d-:

There’s also a new fangled automatic patcher for your favourite flight simulators that has been released by Science Officer Ender, details released last month (yes I know I’m behind) were

The Emperor's Hammer Ship Patcher (EHSP) provides a single utility to install and uninstall Emperor's Hammer patches in TIE Fighter '95 (and CD*), X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, Balance of Power or X-Wing Alliance (if installed). It provides easier use of the patches and checks if required elements are available and for possible (slot) conflicts between patches.

This new Installer does NOT work with the old .bat patches. The new format patches are available at the new Patch Archive on this site.
Currently only X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter is available (because of updates that need to be made to battles, the database and the patches) but expect the other platforms to be supported very soon!

So visit HERE for details or HERE for a download. I’ve not tested it myself but I will as soon as I can get some of the sims back onto my PC.

Orders

- Have fun
- Obey your superiors
- Be loyal to the Fleet
- Be active…get in touch….RECRUIT!!!!!!

Communication

IRC: #airlock54 yes I guess this is still active and available – though I seem to be the only one there!

MBs: http://eh.stryfe.net/viewforum.php?f=20 note the change guys

Competitions

New Wing competition coming soon courtesy of COL Kaisin Mirtez, I’ll let him launch when he’s ready but it looks like being a good one and will last the rest of the year.

Activity

Well I’ve seen some activity of the last month or so, but not a lot and not as much as I’d like. I know I’ve not exactly been leading from the front, but things change and your commanders have been doing a sterling job.

Regrets

It appears from the last MWE that a number of our pilots have either left or plan to leave us as soon as the orders come through. I’m saddened to see LCM Saduno and COL Wolfe requesting transfer and I’m gutted to say that long term Alpherite CM Kahooli has requested a transfer as well. Kahooli has been part of Alpha since before I joined and has had two tours of RL active service during my time in the TC and has tried to keep involved.

I hope all of you find the time and the inclination to rejoin Wing VI in the future, until then good luck and good hunting.

Summary

So I’m back in the saddle and starting to move again, I start my new role on Monday so hopefully that’ll keep me out of mischief, but not out so much I won’t be able to sort things. I’m currently planning a little flying competition but my priority at the moment is getting you all up and active and getting the history of the ISD Warrior written so we can all use it in backstories etc.

So until next week and hopefully more activity I’ll sign off and await the accident report from Vip falling off his chair when he finds this report landed on his desk

Have a good week people
