Report time again, and there's quite an amount of news this time. :P
However, I'd like to begin this report with thanking Stele for his
help during my first days as CMDR. Of course he's saying that he's
just doing his job, nevertheless I want to thank him for answering all
the questions I had with such great patience. You rock, Stele. :)
/me makes a note to get Stele a cute labrador for his birthday. :P


Squadron News
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

- The Deathmask Units Competition is over, and we got a good result
with overall 340 points. I don't know yet, though, how good that
result is in comparison to other squads. We'll see that when the
final results are out. I already know that Sigma got 592, grats
guys. But well, they are twice as big as we are (in pilot numbers,
that is :P).
Thanks to Algaron and Zyrax for participating and scoring for Kappa.

- The FO is apparently in the process of cleaning up the rosters. Tod
and Artys have still not been transferred to Sigma, but at least
Algy is back from the reserves, where he was sent accidentally after
he stepped down from the CMDR spot. Welcome back aboard Algyman. :P

- Algaron has volunteered to remain Kappa's webmaster. Thanks for that
Algy, and keep up the excellent work on Kappa's homepage.

- Algaron will also be the new Flight Leader for Flight 3 of Kappa
Squadron. Congrats Algy! I hope the necessary roster changes will be
done soon. The FL position of Flight 2 will remain open until there
are some pilots in there.

- LT Grinning Donkey was AWOLed. I regret it, but it couldn't be
delayed any longer. Our numbers therefore drop to 5.

- But some good news! It's well possible that Kappa legend and ex-CMDR
Astarosta will rejoin us soon, at least that's what he said on
#Airlock54 this week. See the attached log if interested. :P

- I was appointed OPSA yesterday. That means "Operations Office
Assistant", for those who've been wondering. :P
My task will be to supervise certain changes, or better put,
additions to our current uniforms. You are likely to hear more about
that soon. Graphics Artists of the Wing should already prepare their
crayons. :P

Squadron Orders

- Fly TIE-TC 185 (attached). It's the SSSD Sovereign Battle of the
Month competition for October.
It also includes XvT-TC 17 and XWA-TC 9, in case you want to fly one
of these.
You have until Oct. 31 to submit your pilot file(s). All entries for
this event should be sent to AD Proton at hullbreach@warpmail.net.
(NOTE: Those of you who already have flown this battle for the DU
comp, that's Algy and Zyrax, don't send your files in again. I
already have forwarded them to the above address.)
Winner of each division will receive an Iron Star-Gold Wings, and so
on.
Those of you who haven't played this battle yet (that includes me),
please do so in the remaining week. I'd like to see if Kappa is
prepared for action, as we are not likely to win further
competitions with 3 participating pilots. So fly this battle.
Consider it an activity-check.

- Try to recruit new pilots to fill up Kappa's ranks. To coordinate
this, I'm looking for a new Cadet Assistance Officer (CAO). Please
attend the next Kappa meeting (see details below) to talk about this
and other squad-related stuff.

- Attend the next Kappa IRC meeting.
It will be on Sunday , 6 PM GMT, on #Airlock54. Apart from the fact
that having a meeting again after a rather long time would be nice,
I also have some important things to talk about, so please be there.

The EH begins to rock again in XvT Week of War LII! EH_Phantom
already got 55 matches. I hope that the upcomming XWA Week of War is
going to be also so popular.

- Combat Operations Office Status (RA Kyle Katarn)
The Combat Operations Office is up to date again. All LoC's have
been awarded. Also the Week of War LoC's. The Combat Calendar is up

- Flight Office Report (FA Priyum Patel)
The latest Flight Office report is out. Please be sure to read it
since it contains important information in regards to roster updates

I need people to write articles, reviews, etc for the newsletter. I
especially need one or two people to do regular
book/game/comic/other reviews of Star Wars stuff. If you're
interested, email me stating your interest. Make sure your subject

- Another update (SA Astatine)
The site was moved to another server to try to get the email
component to work. That didn't work so I've been forced to shell out
for the component and hopefully, it will get installed on the
weekend sometime. I'm hoping that after that, the site will work
without much fuss and we can get on with everything.
