Greetings, Kappa fellows, it's report time again, and my first report
as CMDR... although that feels a little strange, I guess the report
itself won't differ much from the last one. :)
I think it's a normal behaviour for CMDRs to announce what they are
going to change and improve in their first report. Well, I only have
two major points here, and these are not really changes, but more
things every CMDR is constantly trying to do. :P
First is: Activity must improve. I know that some of you are busy in
RL (especially Algy, and also Dash), but I didn't see a single TFR for
the Deathmask Units from you yet, and that's a bad sign. Seeing from
other reports I got this week, we are far behind the overall
Wing-activity for this comp. I'm missing the Kappa-spirit! You have
two days left for this competition. Remember that every mission
counts.
Second is recruitment, of course. Although we are still 6 people, it
would be good to have more, especially as Grinning Donkey is likely to
get AWOLed soon.
I'm also planning to reassign the position of CAO, Cadet Assistance
Officer, which I'm currently holding. That doesn't mean that I'm not
wanting to do it anymore, but as CMDR, I'll try to recruit anyways, so
why have this additional title? :P
I would be glad if someone of you would volunteer for this position,
in order to fill up our ranks as fast as possible.

- The TC database was back for a day and then shut down again. There
are obviously greater problems than assumed. Nevertheless, there's
no reason for inactivity, as the alternative battle-center at
www.drakenet.tk is still there.

Squadron Orders

- Participate in the ship-wide "Deathmask Units" competition.
There are only two days left!
If you want to see the details again, look into the attached text
file.

- Fly TIE-TC 185 (attached). It's the SSSD Sovereign Battle of the
Month competition for October.
It also includes XvT-TC 17 and XWA-TC 9, in case you want to fly one
of these.
You have until Oct. 31 to submit your pilot file(s). All entries for
this event should be sent to AD Proton at hullbreach@warpmail.net.
(Note: Flying these battles counts extra for the Deathmask Units
competition as well, even more reason to fly them. Make sure you
send your entries also to deathmask@warpmail.net so you will receive
DU credit for them.)
Winner of each division will receive an Iron Star-Gold Wings, and so
on.

- Try to recruit new pilots to fill up Kappa's ranks.

- Attend the next Kappa IRC meeting.
It will be on Saturday (tomorrow), 8 PM GMT, on #Airlock54. If you
don't have time then, say it early enough so another day and time
can be chosen. Dash, please let me know if you can be there despite
of your leave status... if not, we'll simply do it next week.

- ASF BGCOM appointed
As I'm sure many of you will have heard by now, I've made my
selection for the new ASF Battlegroup Commander. Many
congratulations to Vice Admiral Darksaber! DS is a long standing
Flag Officer, previously serving with distinction as the Commodore
of the ISD Immortal. I'm sure his experience and knowledge will be a
boon to the ASF.

- No new FOA yet
I have not yet decided on a new FOA. After receiving close to 20
applications for the position, making the choice is a little more
difficult than I thought it would be. Rest assured, I'll make a
decision soon.

- COM position on the Grey Wolf open
VA Darksaber is accepting applications for the new Commodore of the
ISD Grey Wolf. His requires, as posted at
http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?t=1740, are:

GW COM Requirements:

Must have been a CMDR for at least 6 months
Must have been a WC for at least 4 months and hold the rank of MAJ+
Must have a strong IRC presence
Must be able to get reports out in time
Must have a strong presence at the MBs
Must be willing to follow the Chain of Command
No serious AoW violations and Familiarity with the Fleet Standing Orders
Familiarity with XvT and BSC

Not mandatory but appreciated requirements:

Be fluent in the English language
Be able to atend to the TC meetings
Have skills in either mission creation, HTML, ASP, PHP

- Wing XI WC selected
The new Wing Commander for Wing XI has been selected, but will be
announced after the current ECR is over. MAJ Spearhawk has agreed to
stay on until then.
