Tempest Squadron Weekly Report #17 – 03rd of June 2005


***~Introductory Note~***

Imperial Storm continues without any major events this week. Bubba said we should expect some action this week. Don’t forget that this is a priority competition for us. I will keep the link below for a few weeks, and I advise you to check it often for any new assignments. Of course I’ll still bug you by e-mail if anything important comes up. If you have any doubts about this, mail me.

There are some other competitions starting that may be of interest: a Tempest Squadron fiction competition, and also two new Wing X comps, being one of graphics and one to design a report template for Coranel. Check the Competitions Center in this report for more information about these comps.

Other thing I want to mention is: recruiting!! For any of you who don’t know, LCM Impulse is doing a commendable job in recruiting. He brought two new pilots into the TC, who, after training in Daedalus, should join our squadron. These should be made an example for the whole squadron.

* New fiction competition starting: Tempest Mascot Tale. Check out Competitions Center for more info.

* Squadron Standing Orders: every week I want you to do one of the following:
- Fly something from the Mission Compendium
- Participate on Tempest Tie Fighter Tactics Workshop: pick a Free-Mission and lets get to it
- Take an IWATS Course
- Write some fiction
- Create a graphic
- Submit something for the Squadron Report (Fiction, graphics, garbage, etc)

* Recruitment
If you haven't noticed Tempest is in desperate need of pilots, get out there and ask your friends, your relatives, parents, grandmothers, dogs, I don't care, let’s just get some people in here.
I am offering an ISM per recruit (Cadet and RSV's alike) and a PC per 5 recruits, so there’s a chance for you to get lots of medals and to help not only the squad but also the wing.

* We are still the largest and most active Wing in the whole Fleet!!!!!

* Imperial Storm turn 3 has ended. The TCBG is the last battlegroup in Victory Points numbers. This has to change!!!!

* Two new competitions have been released by Coranel

Competition between the Battlegroups. It should be considered a priority!!! I’ll be bugging everybody about this for as long as it runs!!!

* Tempest Mascot Tale
For those who do not remember, Zony – the Jawa is the Tempest Squadron Mascot. You are to come up with a story involving Tempest Squadron and its mascot. Criteria will be humor and creativity. Grammar is not to be an issue. Also, there aren’t maximum or minimum word limits. Deadline is the end of June. Winner will receive an IS-BR

* Challenge Letterhead Comp
Your task is to design a letterhead/watermark/symbol/logo/badge for the various units aboard the ISD Challenge. This type of graphic would be something that could be used on all authorial Challenge/Wing X documentation.
Three categories for this: a graphic for the ISD Challenge, a graphic for Wing X, and a graphic for the squads of the Challenge. Coranel is not looking for new banners to go on the TC site. Best entry into the Ship/Wing category gets an IS-SR. The best entry for each squad gets an IS-BR. The only rule is you can only enter one squad entry. In example, LT Billy Bob can't send in a graphic for three different squads; only to one squad. He could have a max of three entries (ship, wing, and a squad one).

* WC Report Template
This is the "Design the WC a sexy report template" comp. Basically, Coranel stumbled across Bubba's neat report when he was doing his wing report this past week, and decided that if Bubba can have a cool looking report, he too needs a cool looking report. As Coranel is fairly unimaginative and uncreative, he is leaving it to you, the pilot people, to make him a neat report format. It should have the categories that his usual reports have. Winning one gets an IS-SR and will most likely be used, with the runner-up getting an IS-BR. Submissions also go to Coranel.
