Tempest Squadron Weekly Report #16 – 27th of May 2005


***~Introductory Note~***

Imperial Storm has started this week. As you know, it’s a competition between the battlegroups. By all means, the Tie Corps BattleGroups must be defended. So, it should be a priority among Tempest Squadron pilots to participate in this competition. Click on the link below to get more info about this competition. This is the page in which you download the files for flying all the battles that might occur in the competition, but navigate through it to learn more about the competition. All pilots are to keep posted on the deadlines, and the battles the TCBG is fighting. If you have any question about it, mail me, but don’t forget to fly the missions, this is very important.

In a little competition update, Sovereign and TCBG forces fought in orbit of the planet Mon Calamari for it’s control. Before the battle, Sovereign forces were: 1 Victory Class Star Destroyer with it’s 48 Tie Defenders, along with 1 Modified Frigate, 1 Escort Shuttle and 6 Assault Transports. The TCBG forces consisted of 1 VSD, 36 T/D’s and 12 T/A’s. As you can see, TCBG was outnumbered, and it lost the battle, loosing all of it’s craft, but what was left of the Sovereign forces was just the VSD and 22 Tie Defenders. There’s a way to get back some of the craft we lost, and it is flying like hell the Single Player missions. With its points we can retrieve some of the craft that was lost.

For the first battle we had against Sovereign forces, only me and Rover turned tfr’s in, and that’s far from what we need. Every pilot with Tie Fighter capability is to fly the Tie Fighter mission. This means: COL Sephiroth and LCM Prost Varsis are excused to fly the missions, but everyone else needs to fly them...This includes MAJ Daniel Bonini, LCM Impulse, CPT Rover, LCM Mike Keyman and LT Haedaliel. If any of these people can’t fly the mission for any reasons, e-mail me and we’ll talk. One Tie Fighter mission is not asking too much of you...If you can do more (fly XvT and XWA) do so. We need to throw into the competition pilots like Impulse, Mike and Haedaliel!! Just fly the mission as best as you can in hard level and I promise you will get a good score.

* Not much going on in the squadron, because I want all attentions be turned to Imperial Storm!!!

* Squadron Standing Orders: every week I want you to do one of the following:
- Fly something from the Mission Compendium
- Participate on Tempest Tie Fighter Tactics Workshop
- Take an IWATS Course
- Write some fiction
- Create a graphic
- Submit something for the Squadron Report (Fiction, graphics, garbage, etc)

* Recruitment
If you haven't noticed Tempest is in desperate need of pilots, get out there and ask your friends, your relatives, parents, grandmothers, dogs, I don't care, let’s just get some people in here.
I am offering an ISM per recruit (Cadet and RSV's alike) and a PC per 5 recruits, so there’s a chance for you to get lots of medals and to help not only the squad but also the wing.

* Don’t forget about Wing X’s Sunday meetings, at #wing_x, at 06:00pm EST (GMT -5:00). Trivia is going on, show up if you can!!!

* Typhoon Squadron is the only full squadron, with 12 pilots, in all the Fleet...Congrats to them....Tempest should be fighting for that spot as well.....RECRUIT!!!!

* Imperial Storm started last Saturday and it’s already on fire. I had the honor of flying the XWA Skirmish, and it was one of the best things I ever did in my life as a TC officer!!!

* There will be a Wing Competition next month

* Squadron of the Month is Typhoon Squadron (April)

***~Final Comments~***

I expect much more participation from all of you in the next weeks. If you have any problems that prevent you from doing a minimum amount of stuff (like flying a single Tie Fighter mission) let me know and you will definitely be excused of the participation in the major competitions. I don’t like the idea of Tempest being a squadron that doesn’t help it’s ship and it’s battlegroup, because that’s what a squadron is about. Ok, then, people, good weekend to you all.
