STRYKER'S STORY
    In the main hangar of the Imperial Star Destroyer Vanguard, Jer and his brother Draiff Stryker finished unloading their things from the transport.  Refreshed from the vacation, yet exhausted from the long trip home, Draiff returned to his quarters to get some sleep.  Jer headed up to his office, dreading the pile of paperwork that was most likely awaiting him.  As he worked on it, he was approached by Lieutenant Commander Carcharoth.
    "Report," ordered the Major.
    "A lot has happened while you were on vacation, sir," replied the droid.  "The Squadron is in decent shape.  Commander noWedge is still in sick bay.  Captain Grimlock has returned from leave.  Colonel Sickman is still passed out in the Tiger's Den.  My fighter is down for repairs.  The good news, however, is that Lieutenant Weeks has begun flying with a vengeance."
    "Indeed?" Jer looked and the manifest status for the Vanguard and noted that even at that moment, Accomplice was out on a combat mission.  "Excellent!  What else?"
    "We have a new Wing Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Justin.  He has already sent out an open invitation for the entire ship to beat him in combat exercises.  The details are in the competitions section of your datapad.  Also, Summer Patrol stars this week."
    Stryker's eyes went wide.  "Already?"  He had lost track of how quickly the season was going by.  (That can happen on a star destroyer) "Call the squadron together for a briefing."

COMMANDER'S BRIEFING

• All right pilots.  Summer Patrol starts this week.  Exact details can be found here and on the main Tie Corps page.  Basically you are given a battle to fly each week (you choose from a list) and if you can do this for eight consecutive weeks you get an Iron Star: Gold Wings!  It's simple, but not necessarily easy.  You have to hurry though if you want to do this (like I do) and fly your first battle soon because the deadline for this week is Sunday!

• We have a new Wing Commander, LC Justin.  He has flown XWA-FREE #61 and challenges each of us to beat his score.

• The annual Top Dog competition will be starting next month, which is only a week away.  More details soon.

• There is tons of flying for us to do both now and in the coming months.  Let's get to our fighters!
