Hades Report #1 Hades/Dal Squadron Report CMDR/CM Sandor Clegane reporting in for Hades (Dal) Squadron on July 17, 2004 ]]>Squadron News<[[ I have been appointed as the new Squadron Commander. I am honored by this appointment and look forward to leading such an outstanding Squadron. There are both old veterans and young novices. There is a new Squadron Web page; you can view it at http://hades-squad.minos.net. Be sure to check for news there. I am going to run an AWOL check to see who is around. The AWOL check start NOW and Ends in 2 weeks, on August 6, 2004. Report in by then, and when you report in let me know what kinds of competitions you’d like to see. I want to keep everyone happy, so I will be sure to run the types of Comps that you all like. I already have some competitions in mind, and will get them up and running as soon as I know who’s available. I will be starting an award system for the most active pilot of the week and month. Each week I will award the Hades Ace of the Week to the most active pilot; this can be any activity (submitted pilot files, MP matches, graphics, email, MB, etc). Every month I will also award the Ace of the Month to the most active pilot of the month. This grant s no ‘Real’ Award in the TC, but is a badge of honor in the Squadron. ]]>Squadron Orders<[[ AWOL Check in Effect: Report in by 06 August 2004. XO Astatine has apparently been just swamped with things to do since the database crash. Once his schedule slows down, he will make the changes. ]]>Wing Orders<[[ - Right now, things are very slow I know. I have requested a competition and am waiting the results from the TO. It will be a single mission using XWA. It will hopefully begin on August 1st and run through the 14th. Its only one mission guys and I expect a high turnout. And for those of you who don’t fly XWA, don’t worry. We will have a TIE free mission after the XWA one. And yes, I hear all the gripes from your XTIE fans. Yes, after the TIE mission, we will do an XTIE one :P More details on the competition once its approved. ]]>TC News<[[ Squadron Summer League about to begin 15:33 - FA Cyric [jroscoe@comcast.net] This year's Summer Patrol begins today and is open to the fleet! What's the Summer Patrol? Well, like last year's patrol (which was a Sovereign only competition) it consists of a weekly patrol of missions and battles to choose from that lasts 8 weeks long. Pilots are free to sign up by flying a battle or set of missions and submitting them to the moderators. Sounds easy, right? Last year we saw a large group of pilots participate in this patrol but only a handful survived on the last week. Those who do not submit their pilot files for a week are automatically dropped out and the patrol continues on without them. Those who do survive this patrol of weekly flying are awarded the Iron-Star Gold Wing. This week's patrol starts off fairly easy. Your objective is to fly one of any of the 15 battles below. Each of these battles is four missions long. Next week may be a little more demanding. Flight Leaders in the Tie Corps 15:16 - FA Cyric [jroscoe@comcast.net] Many of you in the TC looking for advancement need only look to the TC Rosters to see that there are many FL positions available. These positions are seen as the first step towards gaining a Commandership in the TC. Prove yourselves with a Flight and you may soon get a squadron of your own! If you have ambition and drive, and can run a Flight, look through the rosters and find an empty FL slot, then contact the Commander of the Flight. Apply adn make sure that your current commander is aware of your intentions to further your career in the TC. Flight leaders are important, because without them, new SL's don't get placed in the squadrons. Further more, active FL's are more likely to get noticed by commanders and WC's for other positions. If you think you have what it takes, look around and inquire.
