Tempest Squadron Weekly Report #1 - 11th of February 2005


***~Introdutory Note~***

CPT Daniel Bonini reporting in for the first Weekly Squadron Report as me in CMDR’s Office. Again, I want to thank Vice Admiral Master for the marvelous time we all had while he was CMDR.

In advance, I want to apologyze for any mistakes I make with the english language, and you all may feel free to correct me whenever you like. As some of you may know, I am brazilian, so, my mother language is portuguese, and writing in another language can be tricky.

Right now we are the squadron in the wing with the greater number of pilots. We have 7 pilots, Thunder has 6, Inferno has 5 and Typhoon has only 3. With the WC, Coranel, the wing is up to 22 members, and the ship has 23 members, counting COM Stuart. Also, we have, in Wing X two inactive Squadrons, Tornado and Cyclone. “OK, Dan, everybody knows this....” Great....but I think this situation is terrible. I think having only seven in the squadron is pretty bad, you can imagine the other squadrons. So, I’m making recruiting a priority, and I’ll be releasing a comp, which you will read about in the Comp Section of this manual.

About communication, I have a couple of thoughts: I know most of you love mIRC, but I have problems connecting it, since my connection is shared....Sometimes it works, but mostly, it doesn’t. So, you all may still use mIRC whenever you like, but I want to know if anyone has any objection about we also using MSN and ICQ within the Squadron....my MSN passport is daniel_bonini@ig.com.br ........ If you already have MSN you can add me already.....still, I want everyone to e-mail me telling your passport mail, Ok? I also use ICQ sometimes, and my number is 39630099.......anyone who uses that should send me your numbers.

Another priority for me is to promote SL Ozkan Ata to Lieutenant. Ozkan has been in Tempest for two months now, and it’s time to move up in the Ranks.
Ozkan, I want you to fly something this week, or, at least, complete your INPR, or take an IWATS Course.
I want activity up, guys. Meaning, you are all to participate on every wing, ship and squadron competition. And also do stuff you like.....If you like to fly.....FLY, if you like to write......write, and so on......We are here to have fun.......Star Wars rules, and there is plenty for us to do around.

One other thing, I want everyone to contact me at least once a week, unless you are on leave, so I can notice you are all alive and active.

So, here it is, I’ll be sorting out some other comps soon, and we’ll have some fun.

If you haven't noticed Tempest is in desperate need of pilots, get out there and ask your friends, your relatives, parents, grandmothers, dogs, i don't care, lets just get some people in here.

I am offering a ISM per recruit (Cadet and RSV's alike) and a PC per 5 recruits, so theres a chance for you to get lots of medals and to help not only the squad but also the wing.)
This is deactivated until the Tempest Recruiting Comp runs

I dont know the comp ID yet. I’ll let you know.
Its a pretty simple comp: it starts next Monday, 02/14/05, and runs for two months, until 04/14/05.
For every recruit that goes to the wing, you receive na ISM (I want copies of the e-mails when you have first contacted the recruit.
For every recruit that comes to Tempest, you receive na IS-BR
The person who has recruited the most in the first month receives na IS-BR, and the Second Month tôo, so, there are a lot of medal opportunities.
The recruits can come either from the PLT Daedalus, or from FRG Phoenix.

As you can see, this competition is a long term thing for us to fill all the positions available in the squadron, and to help where we can in the wing...
I would like everyone to participate....Just contact people in Daedalus offering help, or contact an old friend in the reserves, and try to get them in here....It’s best for everyone when we have a full house.
