Untitled Document
Pilots of Fury.

This was really it, he had done it! After passing his IWATS SM/4 exam he'd had it confirmed - Fury was his to command, no more Acting CMDR. His mouth felt quite dry at the thought of it. Before, if he'd not been successful he could have passed it off as a jump taken too early. But now, now there was no-one but him to take the fall & things needed to be done! His first real duty was an unhappy one, Colonel Golbez Harvey had requested a move to the RSV, due to outside issues & this was duly passed to the TCCOM. He knew this wasn't the only pilot he'd lose either...

"Gentlemen, we are in a state of flux at the moment, non-communicating & non-active pilots having to leave us, I hope for only a short while. We are, though, about to enjoy a more active period I believe, with both myself and LC Quincy Nelson battling it out on this Month's Pilot Kill board, hopefully soon to be joined by COL Exar Kit who is 'running-in' his new ride as we speak!"

Where we are at and what we are doing...

7-days since my last Sqn Report and I have only heard from the following Squadron Pilots:-

LC Quincy Nelson
COL Exar Kit
COL TK-7764

Not good.

In addition to this, our Sqn's 1st Competition, Fury Needs Mottoes & Nicks has been withdrawn due to a general lack of interest!

Standing Orders:
  • Our Sqn-wide Competition has been withdrawn, but participate in some competition listed below. A new one will be along soon & I want to see some interest from you all!
  • Make it your goal to have some activity that I can report next week.
  • Get hold of TTT2 and upload your Uniform to the TC DB - I'd like to see more Fury Pilots represented, as many of you hold Ranks & Awards to be proud of!
  • Every week I expect every Pilot to REPORT IN, otherwise I am strictly sticking to the '30-day' AWOL rule for now.

Current Competitions:

TC: TIE Corps Competition Centre

Wing XIX: No wing-wide Competitions at this time.

Fury Squadron:

Competition ID#: 2222
Competition status: WITHDRAWN
Submitted by: RichyV
Competition date: 03/01/2009 - 03/31/2009
Competition medals: IS-BR / IS-SR
Participants: Fury Squadron
Description: We are in need of good Mottoes & Nicknames for each of our 3 Flights along with the Squadron itself. I am making available IS-BR's to all Pilots that have their entries selected. You may enter Mottoes/Nicks for any Flight regardless of the Flight you are in & multiple entries are allowed. All entries will then be made known to Pilots for final voting - the entries with the highest votes will then become part of Fury Sqn's culture. In addition, I have, in consultation with our WC, been able to secure shiny IS-SR's for any Pilot gaining 3 or more selected entries! All submissions to richyv@blueyonder.co.uk with subject "Fury Mottoes & Nicks". Good luck!

In Closing:

Feel free to check-out our 'work-in-progress' Fury Squadron website that LC Quincy Nelson has been working on, HERE and let either he or I know of any additions that you'd like to see. My thanks go to the Lieutenant Colonel who started this project of his own volition. Also, get involved in your Squadron's activities, please!

Several other Squads are beginning to record good activity and many individuals are flying again as can be attested to by the Pilot Kill Board. Fury has many talented individuals in it's ranks - let's make it a great Squadron once more!

I am happy to see flying activity returning to the squadron, if slowly. I would like to see more and I know COL Exar Kit will be happy to join us in his shiny new TIE Advanced as soon as it's fully operational! I am unhappy that I have had to withdraw our squadron-wide Competition due to lack of entries, one in 3 weeks is NOT what I expected, so there was no point explaining the 'voting rules' to you all this weekend, as there was NOTHING to vote on! Congratulations go to LC Quincy Nelson, whose entry will be used for the Nickname for his flight - Flight I "The Burning Rage", the Squadron's Nickname will, for the time being, become "Cobra Strike" from our historic Patch. I am still open to suggestions for the other Flight's Nicknames & all Mottoes... IS-BR's are still up for grabs!

As I've mentioned before - ALL of you are expected to contact me each week with your intended activity or reasons for inactivity. Too many of you are relying on an email once every 2 weeks to avoid being AWOL'd, but this is really not good enough and shows no commitment to Fury Squadron or the TIE Corps. I expect to hear and see more activity from everyone. Regrettably one pilot has already been transferred to the reserves & another 2 are being AWOL'd, let there not be any more next week!

In a piece of last-minute news, I will be working away from Monday-Thursday (23rd - 26th) inclusive next week, so please direct any emails to our Wing Commander, Major Miles Prower, if the need arises.

You are dismissed.

Respectfully submitted.

CM RichyV. Commander of Fury Squadron.
