SONG OF THE WEEK: Cortez the Killer by Neil Young. I heard this song a few times covered by Dave Matthews Band and Gov't Mule and it really captured my attention. It's sort of a mournful song, dealing with the conquering of the Aztecs by Hernan Cortez - Cortez the Killer. Very nice.
SHOW OF THE WEEK: Phish - 02/23/97. I don't have much Phish in my collection, but I listened to this show earlier this week, and enjoyed it. The Carini is pretty groovy and also I The Sloth, Fluffhead, Suzie Greenberg and Billy Breathes are among my Phish favorites.

SQUADRON NEWS:

1) Hmm.. quiet this week. SL Halk Knight is working on an IWATS course, for his promotion to LT. MAJ David and I were two of only three pilots to submit for the Wing IV Ace Competition. I finished second in the TIE section, David second in the XWA part :)
2) IMPORANT! We have begun a competition against Wing VIII. We're flying DB-TIE 11, and it's very important to get a lot of submissions in for this one. It's a Wing vs. Wing comp, and our reputation is at stake. WC Mayk sent us all the battle already. You have a month to fly.
3) I encourage you to try and fly TC-TIE 183, TC-XWA 32 or TC-XvT 31 for the February Sov Battle of the Month. This is secondary to DB-TIE 11 though!
4) I have assigned FREE-TIE 199 for you guys to fly in the next week or two or eight.. It's an easy mission :) Send 'er in when it's completed.. try to do so before.. St. Patrick's Day? :p C'mon, you can do it. Once you guys have submitted, I'd like to assign another free mission, in this same, casual fashion.
