Uther watched the shuttle arrive and land on the flight deck. He stiffened as both the TC Commander and Tactical Officer descended.

Nearly all the Redemption's pilots and crew were here, to see a very special award.

At a signal from the TCCOM, Uther said, "Colonel Gunman, forward!" Gunman paced forward to the dais where the two command officers stood.

FA La'an looked grave: "For services above and beyond the call of duty, which have led to great benefit for the entire fleet, it is my great honour to award you the Grand Order of the Emperor!"

The TCCOM invested the colonel with the collar insignia and the dagger: "Welcome to an elite club, colonel."
