Greetings! Welcome to yet another Mantis Squadron report! Things have been slow since the end of SC V. That's cool, and that's understandable. BUT! (hehe) It's time to get back to work, and do what Mantis does best- Lead the Vanguard by being Leaders! If you haven't noticed, yet ANOTHER Mantis alumni is sitting at the helm of the Wing now. Drax Remlinger, my old XO when I last commanded Mantis, is now the Wing Commander. There was NO BETTER choice for this position than him! I offer my congrats, my praise, and my support to him!

SQUADRON NEWS

1) Snijglau has left Mantis to become 3 Flight Leader of Wasp Squadron! Good luck to Snij in his new appointment! =)
2) There are TWO competitions currently pending for our squadron! They are listed below:

Parties Involved All active Mantis pilots.
Missions/Battles Used None. This will be a Multi-player competition.
Medals to be Awarded IS:BW to the top pilot (most points/LoCs). No medals for second or consecutive places.
Miscellaneous Information Details can be found on the squadron website (www.dskonline.net/mantis). Scoring Process: Each LoC earned: 1 pt Each DFC earned: 3 pts Each Mantis Flight Nite win: 1pt Each Mantis Flight Nite MVP award: 3 pts ****Rules*** 1) Every LoC a Mantis pilot earns during the month (from flying in EH-approved comps) counts toward the pilot's total. DFCs count as well. 2) Every Saturday night at 7pm EST, a Mantis Flight Nite comp will be held in #Mantis_ReadyRoom. Mantis pilots will fly each other for points. The high scorer each night will receive the title of MVP for the week. 3) The top pilot at the end of the comp will receive an IS:BW and the title Mantis ACE.

(You will notice that this comp started 3 days ago...and it is still not approved...I will, however, accept all LoC/DFC submissions from 10 Feb on)

The second competition is a Squadron Graphics competition. Send me in graphics for our squadron website. The best submission will receive an IS:BR This comp will run until 15 March 2003.

3) I am looking for the following positions to be filled: Communications Officer (moderates the MB), Information Officer (an intel position within the squadron...), and Morale Officer (assists with comps). Contact me if you are interested in one of these positions.

4) Flight Leaders need to report in to me and tell me how their people are doing, and what changes they feel need to be made in the Squadron. I have an open door policy =)

5) Recruiting is worth alot of weight with me guys. If you recruit for Mantis, Mantis will work harder for you. With Drax at the helm now, I'm sure our Recruiting Team will come back into effect, so expect to see an influx of new Sub Lts!

6) Pilot of the Week: LT Yilana! Keep up the greaaaaat work!!!!

7) Guys, when I took the Squadron over a month ago, we were at 16 citations. Now, we're at 38!!!! SUPER WORK!!!!
