CMDR'S CORNER

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, well, here it is yet another reporting period. Lets what to talk about....oh yeah, REPORT IN!!!!!!!! that's the key phrase of the day and the week. I've seen absolutely nothing from FL III even before I took over as CMDR. So if nothing happens by the end of the week I'll be looking to replace me a FL. Sorry Jack but I like active FL's and if you can't do it then your out and fresh meat is in :P

Next topic: Comps, if you participate then you get points, if you don't then you lose points, the more points you lose means the more you have to do to make up for lost points in order to get that well deserved promo or medal. Sound mean? Harsh? I don't think so, since while I was COM and now CMDR, I'm still active, even while having a RL turmoil then I think its not much to ask that you make a minor effort to participate in atleast one comp or so. So I expect to see at least one entry per member. Why, cuz for the most part its not that difficult to do. You need not fly a comp until your figures fall off trying to get that needed high score, but simply fly the bloody thing to show activity. That's it, sounds hard huh? I didn't think so. But if so then please send me your letter to go to the RSV's so I won't have to send you okay?

Next topic: Standards, well this should be self-explanatory, however I'll touch base on it a bit. The typical standards are have fun and participate. Yeah I know that means that you actually have to do something in order to show your having fun. Bummer huh? Well tough :P I just setup 2 comps for PI which starts today I expect at the least you do one of them, I mean it would be different if we had 12 members here in the squad, but we don't, there are only 6 of us. Which mean we have to work even harder to show activity. So basically I require you to atleast adhere to the standards set forth by your position, if you can't then you'll either be sent to the RSV if your a FM, or you'll become a FM if your not an active FL, period. As we all know that the most basic of these standards is reporting in at the least of once a week. If this can't even be accomplished, then we don't need ya and you'll leave.

Next topic: Jobs, I'm looking for a citations officer. The CITO is one who will keep tabs on the amount of citations the squad has and lets me know that if a certain battle is flown by everyone then we can get a citation. Sound hard? Not at all, in fact its rather easy, considering we only have 6 members right now.

Executive Officer: I'm currently looking at the XO position for the squad. Depending on a few qualities, that i have in mind, I will be making a selection as to who I think should be my A-CMDR in the event I go on LOA. No apps for this, as it is on a selection basis only.

Next topic: Performance reviews. In a sense other than one member and thats LT Scuslem, the rest are in appearance, seem to be slacking in our duties. So I am now making some guideline and standing orders on the way stuff will work here. I will leave everything the way they are for the next week or until next Friday, until such time I will make a review of the squad personnel in the following manner:

A) FLs will submit a flight report to me weekly, regardless of the amount of personnel in their flight. This will include things like what each pilot has done, what the FL has done, etc. and will need to be received in my inbox by Friday night midnight latest. This is so when I make my reports and submit them, then I have the most accurate account of each members activity. Cuz not everyones perfect and so my reports may not reflect the full amount of activity of each member. Having the FLs submit a weekly report to me should help out.

B) FM's should email their FLs with everything they do, and CC me in the mail incase the FL is on LOA. At the least a FM should do is email their FL and me even if its to say hi I'm alive and working on a battle, free misson, etc.

C) For FLs if they don't perform the duties of their job, they will be removed as FL. The decision to do this will be based on my review of the FL and not based on the activity of the flight.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
RECRUIT! If you actively recruit members to PI Squadron and you get three of them, then I will award you an ISM for recruiting them. The only stipulation is that they must graduate the academy if they are there, then join the PI and stay for a minimum of 2 weeks while being active :P , if they are old farts (RSV returnees or others), then they must remain and be active for 2 weeks. The total amount to get an ISM, is for recruiting 3 members to PI. Once this goal gets reached then I will submit a request for you to receive an ISM. Make sure you remind me or I'll forget :P

CHAIN OF COMMAND

----------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: Remember there is a chain of command which is in place, shown below this paragraph is the order in which it is to be used.

1) Flight Officer
2) BGCOM
3) COM
4) WC
5) CMDR
6) FL
7) FM

So this by itself should give you an idea how things work in the Imperial Military. There is an orderly way of doing things and that means you must utilize the chain of command. And believe me when I say this if you don't, or chose not to, it can seriously work against you. Ship board matters needs to be dealt with using this chain. If there is a problem, it should be handled here and only here, there is no reason why anyone outside of this ship would need to help us with an internal matter, unless it's obvious that it should go beyond our immediate chain of command in order to be fixed.

CLOSING EXTRAS

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay so pretty much you know where we stand. This is a good thing. There shouldn't be any problem now if you get removed as FL, cuz you know what I'm looking for at a minimum. Its not hard just do it, and it will get easy. Plus it helps generate emial to the egroups.

One thing I'd like to add is this. When submitting a pilot file for me to BSF I would ask that you do you pilot in the below format:

3319TIETC10 (where the first number is your PIN, the second is the platform type which you flew, the last is the # of the battle flown. In the case of TIE-FREEs put TF, for the rest: DB, IW etc, you get the idea, if not email me and I'll personaly explain it. This makes it easier for me to BSF, cuz in the case of those who dont add their PIN to theiur meil, then I'll atleast have it, by labelling it this way.)
