Commander's Thoughts
Only a few days left in the old SCV competition boys.  There are lots of good medals to be had so lets give it all we have here at the end so we can place fairly high.  We are ranked 4th right now but id like to see us take over that 3rd position.  I am thoroughly proud of each of our guys performance in this thing so hold your head high guys, Hornet has done well!!!

IThe new Hornet banner has been selected.  Thanks to everyone who voted.  Also the SCV Hornet run-on is over.  Thanks to everyone who participated.  The story turned out really well!
 
Well we haven't gotten as many cits as I'd hoped but there is still time!  If you don't already have an assignment and think you'll be able to fly a battle or two before the end of Sunday it would really be helpful.
 
In the mean time I am still going to fly as many battles as possible in the next few days.


Squadron News:
-We now have 28 citations which is great increase for the week.  And for all the newer guys in the squad, we gain a citation for just about every battle you fly and I would love to see us break twenty again by next week so lets all fly a battle or two. --Our  XO Jer Stryker has issued assignments for the  week so do everything you can to do what he gives ya.
-The new Hornet messageboard is up and running and I have yet to see very many of our people posting to it so go check it out and lets hear you.  We have a brand new runon up on the message board so stop by and post to it and do be creative.
-Any member of this team that has 0 points comes the end of the comp will be officially Awol'd without delay.  It only takes a minute to do something of point value so I expect something from everybody.  Dont hinder the TEAM, be a part of it!!! 
-Unfortunately I will be on leave Friday and Saturday and I will be returning sometime on Sunday. I ask that all pilot files be sent to our WC Erik Tarkin as he will put them in for you. I hate this happens right at the end of the comp but my job requires me to be at a business meeting out of town and cannot be avoided. So dont you guys stop working just cus im not here to put my foot in your butt. I still expect my mailbox to be flooded with approvals upon my eminent return.

Wing/Ship News:
-The Vanguard has fallen behind and there is very little time left but who ever said underdogs couldnt win.  I challenge ever member of the Vanguard to get off their rearends and fly for the glory of the greatest ship in the fleet.  So this is a general call to all hands on deck, get out there and fly and make her the rightful flagship of the ASF.
-There will be a big MP event on February 2nd celebrating our beloved BGCOM Darksabers birthday. So I encourage all to show up and show the old man we really do care and help Hornet have a good showing. The times and all details can be found on the ASF MB.
