-No news on the Border Wars, so stay tuned for anything on this!

-I've contacted LC Badlands and I asked him to make us a new banner! he came up with two great ones (attached) Talking to some of the squad, I've decided to ask him to make a new one combining the best features from both. The new one will rock!!

-Due to the news of AbsoluteK shutting down his server, we may have to move the Kappa page to a new server, or not. When we know more of this issue, you'll know.

Miscellaneous
---------------------

This week, all borrowed from Inky's winng report, as I'm really in a hurry :p

Mission design contest
07:37 - FA Striker [EH_Striker@mail.com]
For the Jedi Convention 2001 held in Cologne,
Germany next Easter, the Emperor's Hammer is going
to provide some demonstration custom missions for
some competitions, with little prizes for the
winners. The goal of this contest is to select the
missions chosen for this event. Missions will be
needed for all platforms, Tie Fighter, X-Wing vs
Tie Fighter and X-wing Alliance. Due to the
"propaganda" nature of the event, only missions of
the highest quality will be selected.
Three custom missions per platform will be chosen
for single player competitions. In addition, a set
of four XvT missions will be selected for a
multiplayer contest: these missions can be in
either "multiplayer combat" or "multiplayer
training" formats, be played in cooperation or
face-to-face engagement, but must be balanced for
both sides.
Details available at http://www.tiecorps.org/tac/contest.html

New COOA
12:53 - AD Zsinj
[slookabill@home.com]
Well after a while I've finally decided on who the
next COOA will be...
Congrats go to:
CMDR/CPT Brucmack/Vortex/Wing XIII/ISD Grey Wolf
I had many, qualified applicants so you guys that
applied made my job tough, but with this
appointement we will hopefully see WoW LoC's once
again and maybe other things too!

Passwords on tiecorps.org
00:42 - SA Kawolski
[absurefire@aol.com]
In light of a few "concerns" from pilots and other
security reasons, passwords may now only be
retrieved via the Password Retrieval Form. You can
no longer get your password by asking the Flight
Office staff because they don't have access to
other people's passwords.
When you fill out forms or tests that require you
to enter your password, it
simply checks your password with the one stored on
the database. It does NOT e-mail or display your
password to other officers in the club. The only
person in the entire fleet with access to see
passwords stored on tiecorps.org is me and me
alone.
I will not accept lost password requests either
via e-mail or IRC. If you lose your password, use
the retrieval form.

Combat rating bug fixed
12:48 - SA Kawolski
[absurefire@aol.com]
Members who were suspended from the Battle Center
and lost their Combat Rating now have their Combat
Rating back.

TAC promoted to Fleet Admiral
12:14 - SA Kawolski
[absurefire@aol.com]
Congratulations to go to Tactical Officer Admiral
Striker for his promotion to Fleet Admiral!

EH Domain updated
19:58 - SA Kawolski
[absurefire@aol.com]
Grand Admiral Ronin has updated the EH Imperial
News Center with the latest fleet news and reports.

Competition approvals
03:36 - HA Astatine
[jpboyce@indigo.net.au]
I've just got the competition approval system
running again and have approved a backlog of 20
competitions. If you did not get an email saying
your competition was approved, then you can pretty
much assume it was denied. I'll be working on the
denial system and other aspects of the site during
this week.

AbsoluteK's Hosting Services
22:49 - AD AbsoluteK
[absolute@ehnet.org]
I will be leaving my college residence on December
15th. This means that I will no longer have access
to my T1 link to the internet, which is used to
host my server which hosts many EH Websites. I
have an account with 500MB of space on a different
server which i can use to host websites, email
accounts, and email lists.
But due to the space restrictions, on webspace I
can't host all the websites currently hosted on my
server. I'm also aware of the fact that many of
the websites on my server, haven't been updated in
a long time, some since i first opened up the
server almost a year ago. For this reason, and the
space restriction on my account, I'am requiring
anybody that wishes to continue recieving web
hosting from me send an email to
accounts@absolutek.com with the topic "My Website
Account" and the following information in the body
of theemail:
-Account Name
-Current Password
-Size of website
-Why you deserve hosting
Priority for hosting will go in this order:
-Sub Group homesite
-Command Staff Offices
-Squadron
-others
Those people that have email, and email list
accounts on my server currently will have their
account setup on the new server by the time I
leave college residence. However, they will have
to email me for their account passwords. They can
do so by emailing accounts@absolutek.com with the
topic "My email/list account" and including the
following information in the body of the email:
-account name
-current password
I'm very sorry to have to shut down my server, and
understand that many EH'ers will be affected by
this. To stay in college residence i'd need
$1900CAD, which i don't have, and since i've been
a full time student for 4 straight semesters now,
i haven't had much time for a job either. I'm
looking into other possibilities for hosting my
server on a cable internet connection, but i'm not
sure when or if i will be able to do that.
I would like to urge anybody who has any questions
or concerns to please email me at
absolute@ehnet.org.
Despite the fact that my server will cease
operations (hopefully not permanently), on
December 15th, I still plan to remain active in
the Emperor's Hammer.

several improvements for Windows 95/98/ME/2000.
