Squadron News
-----------------------

-Former SL Razor has been promoted to LT for flying a battle. Wohoo!! Kappa hug!! Kappa hug!!

-CM Algaron has been appointed as Flight II's FL. Congrats! Despite his hardware problems which kept him away for some time, his level of activity shown on his return has earned him the position. Now, later I'll pass you the phone number of that place where they send you the strippers...ya know, for your promotion party :p

-The above simultaneous promotions were made on purpose to get a nice long and continued party. So, get ready to rumble!!! :p

-CM Algaron has created a Flight II website!! go check it out at http://algaron.sphosting.com/home.htm
It will soon be included on the TC.org database roster.

-LCM Jan Wemmel and I have been awarded ISMs for flying 7 and 10 rounds respectively of the Sov League. Yay! Happy ISM dance!!

-The Kappa Webmaster position is still open. I'm taking applications, so hurry up before the page dies and rots :p Uniforms update will be delayed until the new webmaster is appointed.


Squadron Orders
-------------------------


-Kappa vs Sadhe has been extended!! Since FT 135 had some bugs that Algaron and Jan Wemmel reported, we're switching to Free Tie 134 (attached), and we're kickin the deadline till next friday, November 10th. Rules and conditions are the same, ISM to top scorer, laserless score method is on, and top scoring squad is the winner. We NEED 100% participation. Get to your ships and kill one for Roasty! :p

-Operation 'Release the Ties' is on its fifth day!! Under special circumstances, LT Razor has joined Blue team, with the already signed up Kappans Algaron, Jan and myself. Let's all give him some advices to the youngster, its his first combat experience! Let's see how those long weeks on Daedalus worked on you LT! :p
The battlefield is silent, so remain in your fighter and be alert for any signs of the Red losers...:p

-Border wars round 3 its on till November 7th. Fly both missions with no restrictions, you can play round with the rebels for a while, bring back their virgin woman for erm...performing some scientific research, do a psichological attack before engaging them (flooding their radio communication channel with some lame-o Limp Bizkit or Backstreet Boys), call them names (Ewok-lover, Bantha scrap-eater, etc.), whatever you like. Including difficulty levels and shooting them :p Both attached, along with a custom .lfd for mission 2.

-Both FL's must submit new mottoes and nicks for their flights ASAP. That's an order, otherwise they will remain like this forever. You can talk to each other if you want them to be related or something.

-SSS Graphic phase has started. Everyone of you handy with this, a recruitment poster for the Squadron. Remember participation counts, so it doesn't matter if you aren't Picasso. We are in a nice round zero so far on this comp, so some submissions wouldn't hurt at all.

-And while you have your Photoshop (or your Paint :p) still on, as I'm changing the squadron nick and motto to "Spirits of Wing II" suggested by Jan Wemmel and "If it Flies it Dies" a motto used by the squad before, to honor the Kappa past, we must change the banner. I'll choose the better from all the submissions I expect to get (!?) and the creator will be rewarded.

"Released yesterday in a Lucasarts Press Release! If you don't own X-Wing, TIE Fighter, or X-Wing Alliance, you'll be able to buy all three at the retail price of $29.95 US in the new "Star Wars: X-Wing Trilogy", which also includes X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter: Flight School game. It doesn't appear to feature anything new bundled with it, so you probably shouldn't buy it if you already own all these games. If you don't, now's the chance! -The Outer Rim nights have finally been replaced with the TC-IW training nights. Go there, have some online fun and get LoCs!

-From AD Striker:

"The Tactical Staff will welcome in addition to the Beta Team in charge of playtesting new battles a "Phoenix Engineers Team", in charge of checking/correcting battles released over the past year (TIE, XvT and XWA), the same way Project Phoenix did for the battles released before. This team will be under the direction of Vice Admiral Wlodek, send any application for joining the team to him. Tacticians positions should only be filled with skilled mission designers. Details about the Phoenix Team have been posted at http://www.tiecorps.org/tac/phoenix.html"

-The Bug report numbers next to the battles in the Battle Center is for the first time empty! I'd say that AD Striker is rocking the TAC!! I remember seeing some battles with like 5 bugs reported :p

-Doc Sauron Tarrke has stepped down from Rho's command. Congrats go to the newly appointed CMDR, LC Arcol Delplancq!!

-The Mac Tie problem fix is finally officially aproved! From SA Kawolski and Inky:

"As featured in Admiral Striker's reports:
As most of the serious crashes come from too many radio messages in the mission, VA Wlodek has prepared a special Battle 13 LFD and a default TFR, so that Mac users may play all battles as Battle 13. Since Battle 13 allows eight missions, with up to 16 messages in each, this should eliminate just about all message-related problems. Mission files must be renamed as Battle 13 missions.
