Kappa Squadron Report - October 22nd, 2000 - CM Astarosta
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

zzzZZZZZzzzzzzZZZZZZZzzzzzz...ehh...oh! dang this week made me sleepy...so far, the slowest since I joined the EH...gosh. We gotta wake up people!
Sorry for the late report, but a huge RL report for university kept me busy all week.

Squadron News
-----------------------

-CPT Deacan, former Kappa CMDR and Flight II's FL has been transfered to the reserves due to RL issues. He was a fine officer, and he surely will be missed on Kappa and Wing II. Farewell Deacs, and good luck on anything you do!

-Since Deacan's FL position is TBA, I officially declare the "Flight Leader Pursuit" open.
Requirements for the position are:

Participate in all comps or most of them.
Be in contact with his flight pilots and the squad.
Contribute to the overall good mood all the time
BE AN EXAMPLE for all of their fellow pilots, specially younger ones.

Over the next two weeks, I will evaluate all pilots in conditions of promotion (namelly Reb Crush, Algaron and Hawk Hunter) on their level of activity. If you do NOT want the position, mail me saying so. If, after this period I consider that no one qualified, I'll announce the position to all of TC.
Have in mind that if you get the position, a two weeks +/- period of inactivity will qualify you for demotion back to FM.
Something to have in mind: If you don't get the position, don't get mad cause, even with the responsabilities I named avobe, a FL position is basically the same that being a FM. This is NOT made to raise regrets or anger between you or from you to me. Remember, promotions are not everything. The main thing on the EH, and mainly on Wing II is to HAVE FUN. As a FM, a FL or anything.

-A flying comp with Wing V's Sadhe squad should be on right now. I haven't got official confirmation from the TO, and I submitted the comp approval form last tuesday. I'll talk with Sadhe's CMDR, MAJ Sickman, we'll see what to do and I'll let you know what happens.

-CT Razor has completed his training. He already chose Kappa, so when the FO returns from her leave on October 25th, we'll be back at 6 members. Geez Razor, it's taking a long time! Please don't destroy the Daedalus in eagerness to join. You'll be here soon. :p

-We've been lame both on the SSS trivia and the Border Wars round II. I ORDER YOU THAT THIS SITUATION IMPROVES INMEDIATELY. Otherwise you'll all be naked and dressed as playboy bunnies with signs on your back with "kick me"written on it, in a platform of Wookie prisoners who haven't seen anybody in 6 years.

Squadron Orders
-------------------------

-Border Wars Round 3 is on!! no more sissy rebel rules! refly both missions from the past rounds killing all you want and on the level you want! PRIORITY!! both missions are attached.

-Somewhere in this week the comp vs Sadhe should be approved and it will span over 2 weeks. When you get your orders, this will be PRIORITY. This challenge was made when both Kappa and Sadhe were with 6 members each. Now we're five and they are EIGHT. This comp will need 100% participation if we want to win.

Miscellaneous
---------------------

-From Sin's CMDR, Stele Pelleaon:
"As you know, Operation: Release the TIEs is coming up in about another
week or so. (Stele the broken record player) As GameMaster I will send
a sign up sheet to every squadron in a couple days. I cannot ORDER you
to but I URGE you to take part in this TieCorps historical event. We
TieFighter users must keep the game alive and this operation is one sure
way to do it."
-From me: This will be awesome. It's an operation based on Imperial Storm exercise designed by Stele. From all I've seen so far, this will be historical for Wing II. Since this is not mandatory, I cannot force you in, but...then again YES I CAN! GO! GO! GO! GO! All of you sign up and participate! You cannot miss it! Details and the official website's adress with rules will be sent to you soon. And other thing: this is considered TOP SECRET. DO NOT TALK TO ANYONE OUTSIDE WING II ABOUT THIS OPERATION!! . Direct order from LC Inkwolf.

- WC Inkwolf has been caught with the Briefing Officer in a closet. This is the beggining of the First Wing II Soup Opera ever. This will be good. Prepare your kleenex box, cause you'll cry, you'll laugh and you'll be excited about this show. Stay tuned for more. :p

-From COL Kessler:
"Lucasarts are conducting a poll at their homepage, asking what our favorite PC Star Wars games were. There's an extreme possibility that they may actually take the results of the poll seriously, and if enough people vote for the X-Wing series the next Lucasarts game developed for the PC might be TIE Fighter Alliance instead of some rubbish like Episode I Super Gungan Bombad Power Battles. :P Cast your vote at http://www.lucasarts.com/"
From me: Go vote there.

-Battlecry 8 is out. Check it out before it's sold out at http://battlecry.ehnet.org/

-The database has a cool new feature that displays your uniform on your TC.org profile. SA Kawolski details requirements for uploading as follows:

Uniforms must follow these guidelines:

-.gif, .jpg, or .png file
-No larger than 200 pixels in width (and 300 in height, unless you want to add a head to it)
-50KB max file size
-TC Uniform only, no other pictures accepted

If you want to do this, my advice is the following:

-Go to kappa.squadron.org, go to the roster section, open your uniform, save it to your hard disk and resize it with any graphic editor. Then go to your profile and upload it.
-if you don't have a graphics editor, or a bad one that makes your picture awful, or you're lazy as hell, ask me and I'll send you a resized version. But ONLY if anny of the previous applies to you case! and the lazy stuff was a JOKE! ...geez :p

-From CM Dansin Wolver:
"Despite the loss of VA Maaric, the ISC will soon become active. A manual detailing the duties and activities of the ISC can be found at http://reconoffice.dhs.org/isc.asp. This manual will soon be updated.
Due to the loss of Maaric, the roster of the ISC has been lost. Because of that, the ISC will soon be opened again to general membership. Effective now applications for membership will be taken by me at ishmael2@ix.netcom.com. Here is what we would like you to include in your application:
- Your full ID Line, of any and all current Subgroups
- What division of the ISC you'd like to join (check the ISC Manual), if you have a preference.
- Your EH career history, as detailed as you can make it
- Why you'd like to join the Imperial Survey Corps
- Anything else you think I should know."
