Psi Report # 0 (2000-06-10)

This report was submitted by LC Ford Prefect

Welcome, gents and lady, to yet another simply superb, devestatingly intelligent and humorous Psi Squadron Report, as prepared by the peer-less Ford Prefect! So, hold onto your hats, wigs, and small African toads latched on-to your craniums, and prepare for....uh...never mind.

-Squadron News-

- We have a new pilot! If you havne't already, say hello to SL...no, wait, LT Kerch Stormchaser! Kerch has wasted no time, since joining the TC yesterday, in completing two battles, a free-mission, filling out his INPR, and submitting some fiction to the EH Newsletter, while getting promoted to Lieutenant in the process! Not a bad start :P The fiction, btw, is attached..

- We had a new pilot! Sub-Lieutenant Arson, an RL friend of Kerch's, came and left the squad within a few days due to the fact that his computer's gone/destroyed/maimed....he's been transferred into the reserves until he gets a replacement...

- Vlade is back (kinda)! After finally getting Southwestern Bell to install DSL into his house, Darth Vile hath returned! Still awaiting word on whether he's ready to come out of the Reserves, and hopefully back to Psi....Vlade? (note his new e-mail, folks :P)

- The Wing II vs. Wing X comp is over...and we creamed 'em!!!!!!!! :P The official report, from WC Harksicles:

< Salute >

Pilots of SSSD Sovereign Wing II,

Our rivalry against Wing X runs deep. It always has. It's deep, it's
strong, it's emotional. I know many people for whom it is even personal;
myself included. I know many of you who would be more than glad to see
this pack torn to shreds, and not just for Wing honor.

Two and Ten have brushed many times in the past. One such occasion was
the end of the first Sovereign League, when Rho, despite having the
second-highest score amongst the eight finalists, was ousted by Typhoon
in the first round of the finals. Typhoon was accused of using disloyal
laser-related techniques to gain an edge in this contest. The heated
debate between the Wing II squadrons and the Wing X squadrons during
this time led to, amongst other things, vicious cries of outrage that
nearly landed a third of Wing II in front of the Inquisition.

More importantly, it also led to the development of laserless
score-counting.

Another such occasion was when Psi and Rho squadrons competed against
Tornado and Typhoon not so long ago - and to Wing II's dismay, lost.

General Gallows, dissatisfied, would not settle for a loss. He prepared
the Wing for a final offensive that would settle the dispute once and
for all. A contest without tricks, without questions. Wing II and Wing X
would clash in all-out combat, and the Wing with the highest total score
would be declared the winner.

During the contest, many events occured that left us worried about the
outcome of this contest, and about the future of this Wing. Our most
talented officers, Gallows, Sasquatch, and Freelancer, left us. Many
others resigned due to their other occupations. I was left in command of
Wing II, and I wondered what would happen to a Wing that had lost so
much. Could we still manage a victory?

Ladies and gentlemen, the results came in today. Have a look.

Conclusion: Wing II Victory over Wing X.

As far as I am concerned, the rivalry is now settled. All of us who have
taken the battle against Wing X personally should now consider this the
end of our quarrels and leave old grudges behind. Pilots, don't rub it
in. We won, we won, and that's it. All old accounts have been settled.
We will, from now on, treat Wing X in a spirit of good-natured
comradeship and give it the respect that it is due. I want no vendettas,
no sour references to our past, nothing. Wing X are Imperials like we
are, and they deserve our respect. That's my final order as Wing
Commander, and if you're not happy with it, you can go find yourself
another Wing to nurse your grudges in.

Well, that's it, foo' ! =) Party on!

I wish to thank all of you for your participation, and to thank all my
CMDRs for their support. As the commander of this Wing, I must say it
makes me very proud to start off with such a resounding victory. I trust
that this Wing will keep on growing, and reach heights like it has never
known. We'll keep on flying, drinking, rocking on, and smashing through
the colon of any sucka' who gets in our way!

Barman! Add another week of Wing II drinks to my tab! =)

LONG LIVE WING II !!!

Congratulations to all of you - you've earned them well!

- LT Nemesis has been promoted to the rank of LCM! A promotion well-deserved and a bit overdue! Congrats, Nem!

- Nemesis has also been awarded the Imperial Security Medal and Palpatine Crescent, for winning the Psi Top Gun Award and Psi Ace Award, respectively...

- Work continues on switching the squadron webpage to squadron.org and updating it, with a few modifications...this move has been hampered, however, by the fact that squadron.org is currently down...

- LCM Nemesis is still on leave until the 12th...won't he be surprised when he checks his mailbox? :P

- Wing II Banner competition still on...apparently, Ford may be confused on this one, but he believes that the deadline for banners passed on the 6th....but he's heard that the deadline may be the 15th....Harks?

- Free-TIE Summer Madness! GN Ricardo of Wing IV has started a Free-TIE competition for the summer...essentially, pilots participating are to, on their own, fly 95% of all the free-missions in the TIE Corps database. E-mail the good General (bantha_34@hotmail.com) for more info...all pilots interested are encouraged to participate!

- Expect news on some competitions coming this summer soon....

- Remember, suggestions about the squadron, ideas for competitions, whatever, are always welcome! Don't hesitate to flood Ford's inbox with them! Er...wait....uh...moderately sprinkle :P Anyhow, if you've got a comment/criticism/idea, don't hesitate to talk to Ford...

- The Psi IRC meeting had a great attendance of two people...Ford and the good WC, Harks...who left after two minutes muttering that he had some foo's to beat up. What's wrong wit you guys? :P Anyhow, with luck, a better turn-out next week...

-Squadron Orders-

- None at this moment...remember the Wing II banner competition...and be good, active little TIE Corps pilots.

Star Wars: Call to Arms is a multiplayer modification for the game Half-Life. It is based upon the military
aspects of Star Wars, with 2 teams being the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. There are an
assorted number of weapons (with more to come as it progresses). For more information please visit
http://swca.cold-ice.com.

The positions I need help with are mappers/texture artists and weapon modelers.

The mappers should have experience with mapping for Half-Life, and the weapon modelers should be
able to model and skin the weapons.

Anyone interested should mail goatdude@tiecorps.org.

- If any of you are looking for some quick FCHG points, by several sources, Free-Missions 1-15 are quite easy...

That appears to be all....stay funky and groove out!
