Introduction
There is a lot of good news to go through this week (but also a bit of bad...bye Aeolus), so let's crack on and get stuck into this weeks report.
Phantom Squadron is COM's Own
You should all feel very proud of yourself. VA Adrenaline has awarded us the COM's Own for getting 100% participation in the ECR and the vast improvements that have occurred that has made us one of the best squadrons in the fleet (and we'll be THE best in another month or so in my opinion).
This is one of the best honours we can get...and everyone in Phantom deserves credit for helping us get the award.
LCM Aeolus leaves us
Sadly, Aeolus left Phantom Squadron for the reserves earlier in the week. While he hasn't been a Phantom pilot for long I am very sad to see him go. If you ever consider returning to active duty you know where to come :o)
LT Mahak de Lay leaves for reserves
Again, another one of us has to leave...although this one isn't official yet. I have just got a mail from Mahak saying that he will be unable to be active because of RL problems. He probably won't be able to return to duty for months so he will probably be going to the reserves. Sorry to see you go, Mahak.
CPT Malik transfers to Phantom
With the Naval Corps closing, the officers there are having to find new homes. While you can't help but feel sorry for them, I'm delighted as it means more pilots for us TC XWA Wings. I'm even more delighted when officers of Malik's quality are joining us, so please give him a huge welcome to Phantom Squadron!!!
Also, with Malik's past command experience in the NC, that made him prime candidate for the free FL position in Phantom. I'm sure he'll do a great job.
Welcome to SL Kapp Dendo
We have ANOTHER new pilot in Phantom Squadron (with my monopoly over Daedalus, other CMDRs must pay me £50 if they want a new pilot). Welcome to Phantom Squadron Kapp, and I hope you have a great time here with us.
LT Deimos awarded ISM
For his great activity in each competition he could possibly take part in, Deimos was awarded an ISM. While I'm proud of everyone who flew for the competitions, Deimos was exceptional because he flew and re-flew and re-flew and re-flew some more until the deadline passed. Well done...you deserve this medal.

Spearhawk has created a banner for all the squadrons who lose in competitions with us. When (not if, WHEN) we win a competition, the opponents have to place the banner on their website for all to see. However, in the unlikely even we lose...we must do the same with their banner.

LT Jari can fly again!!!
He now has XWA fixed on his computer, and has already served us well by sending in a pilot file for the Hey Vs. Phantom Competition (more details on the comp later). Hopefully that will boost the activity of an already great officer. Even though he couldn't fly before, he has made up for it by passing loads of IWATS courses over the past couple of weeks (6 in total - mIRC1/2, HTML1/2/3, VB Script)

What can I say, but excellent work from all the
pilots who took part and showed the rest of the TC what a good squadron we are
now. Every Phantom pilot who could take part did take part in this round, and
new pilots arriving every week and members returning from leave all the time we
should be more dominant in the other competitions.

I apologise for my bad score...but I got that on the hard level. It just shows how good the other pilots are who got twice that on the same level. I still think that we can still win this competition however, and cruelly embarrass Hey Squadron by winning with a massive margin.
Embarrassment Tour 2001
I am currently lining up squadrons for us to compete against to help us prove how good we are. I am sure that we are eventually going to play every TC XWA Squadron, but this ist just going to be a TC tour...we're going to tour everywhere else too!!! The Infiltrator Wing and Dark Brotherhood are packed with great XWA squadrons, and I'm also looking into fighting against other clubs too.
The competition next week will probably be
against the IW's Razor Squadron (their finest apparently), but it is still yet
to be confirmed.

IRC Please attend #isd_immortal as often as possible on IRC. There
are also the channels #emperor’s_hammer and #tiecorps, so please go there as
often as you can. If you don't know how to use or get on IRC, please mail me
about it and I will help you.
Immortal IRC Meeting - There is also a Ship meeting in #isd_immortal at
3pm EST (8pm GMT) every Sunday for announcements and chat. I should be there, so
if you need any help with anything or just a chat with me, please show up.
Wing III Commander Retires....

Earlier last week, General Sasquatch, current Commander of Wing III announced his retirement from active service. Over the past 2 years and more, Sas has proved himself to be one of the most capable and respected Officers in the TIE Corps, ensuring that those serving under him were always having fun. For the work and effort he's put into making the Corps a better place, the General is hereby awarded the Gold Star of the Empire.
Sorry to you go Sas, but I know you'll be back soon!

- Prepare for the competition against the IW's Razor Squadron next week. Details will be up on the mailing list as soon as possible.
- Take part in as many multiplayer competitions as you can (more info can be found at http://www.tiecorps.org/combat/)
- Attend IRC as often as possible. Remember that as well as #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps, there is also an #ISD_Immortal room. If you need any help getting on IRC and using mIRC (or whatever) mail me. ISD Immortal meetings are on at 3pm EST in their channel.
- Post on the Phantom Message Board more often. It can be found in the Squadron Forums on http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/
- Recruit!!! If I can do it, ANYONE can!!!
- Give me some BSFs to do. If there are
any missions you haven't flown, then get flying. If you've completed them
already, then why not go for the highscores as they may be useful in a
future competition.
I've been told by my pilots to note that pilots regularly chat on IRC, mailing lists and message boards, perform their positions duties (FLs look after thier pilots, I do BSFs and stuff, etc) and do thier best to keep up on the EH news as much as possible. It's just not reported as it is impossible to check up on those details.
