Koph Report # 7 (2000-10-08)

This report was submitted by MAJ Firebird

Pilots of Koph Squadron:

Good grief! I took Friday off from work to have some dental work done,
and completely forgot to write the squadron report while I was sitting
around all day at my computer answering Emperor's Hammer email.

This will have to be a slightly abbreviated report, due to the fact
that my ATRs are at work, and not at home. Needless to say, there is a
ton of activity, and I'm pleased to say that everyone in the squadron
has been participating.

There's a lot of news to report. Technically, the news about the Rebel
Squadrons which I forwarded earlier this evening would go in next
week's report, but it's important. If you are a member of the Rebel
Squadrons, you must resign from the RS, or you will be expelled from
the EH. That comes directly from Grand Admiral Ronin. If you don't
believe me, check the actual news article at
http://www.emperorshammer.org and find out for yourself.

Enough bad news though, I've seen some terrific things happen this
week.

For starters, Koph won the first Wing Commander's Own award that LC
Joe has ever given! Congratulations again, guys, you rock!

I was awarded my third Palpatine Crescent for breathing life into a
dead squadron. *bows deeply* Thanks again, Joe :)

We've got 100% participation for Combat Run #14. Since LC Mezynski's
pilot file was delayed (I rather expected that) it was not in time for
the competition, but if we were to pick up three more members, we
would now be eligible for a squadron citation for that battle. Again,
you guys kick ass!

So yes, I've been spreading a rumor (for about 10 minutes now, but I'm
sure you've read it already).. I was thinking we could challenge
another Wing VI squadron to a little friendly competition. Not just
any squadron, but Resh Squadron. It happens to be Joe's and my former
squadron (I was CMDR, Joe was my most active pilot ;) ). It's
commanded by another of my former pilots, and in fact 3 of its four
pilots were there when I was in command of it. Frankly, I think we can
take them.

All in favor say "Aye!" :)

And now... the moment you've both been waiting for... the Koph Ace of
the week!

Due to outstanding participation, a great attitude, several excellent
suggestions, and some pretty amazing flying (I thought I was ok, but
those scores nearly made me cry), the Koph Ace goes to Lieutenant
Colonel Mezynski!

As for Mezynski's little suggestion that anyone who holds onto the
Koph Ace for four weeks straight earns an ISM, for now I'll award ISMs
when I think they are earned.. at least until we get enough pilots
that it wouldn't be an easy three or four more ISMs for Mezynski here ;)

So, with that surplus of good news in mind, go out there and recruit
some Cadets for the newest active squadron in the Emperor's Hammer. Be
sure to let me know how many mails you send out for recruiting so I
can put them in your ATRs (and consequently the MSE, too). Remember
that your activity only gets recorded if I hear about it.

I will send ATRs and a copy of the roster on Monday morning to
complete Squadron Report #7. Stay tuned! :)

That will be all,
Major Firebird
