Theta Squadron Report #1 |

Date Submitted: December 13, 2021 CC: TIE Corps Fleet Theta's newest Commander, Vapen "Doc" Vanman, sat down at the terminal in his new office. The Balosar was tall, cramped in the Interceptor he came from in Rho and still cramped in the Theta Defender. A deep red beard adorned his face with a patch of hair that seemed to get thinner by the day, making his antenna seem longer than when he had a full head of hair. Taking a deep breath, and a sip of chalquilla, Doc turned the screen on and was immediately bombarded with communications from a wide variety of sources. There were pilot profiles, fighter maintenance reports, medal recommendations, and more to be sorted through. After another sip of chalquilla, the Commander got to work on the stack of paperwork... |

Hello! I have tried to introduce myself to most of you, but for those of you who I haven't yet, I am Vapen Vanman, the new Theta Squadron Commander. Without further ado, let me get into the news. First and foremost, General Pete Mitchell has stepped down as Theta squadron commander after almost 2 years of admirable service, be sure to buy him a drink next time you see him in the Warrior Cantina! I look forward to getting to know you all and fly with you in the months to come. Fleet News Imperial Storm 4 has almost concluded with the Warrior on the precipice of being declared the being declared the winner of the annual war game! Congratulations to you all for some fantastic flying and look for the official results to arrive as soon as the fire is out in the Simulation Room. Squadron News April has finished with a flurry of activity thanks to IS4. Due to that, and my first time submitting medals, it may take me a couple days to get the medals submitted, but it is my first priority in my new role. A huge shoutout is owed to many Theta Squadron members for their effort in IS4. There were many Legions submitted by Theta pilots, and a shoutout to LT Sitka, LT Speeedoflight, LT Beach89, and LT WhatsUpDock for showing the Hammer AND Challenge what-for in SWS Dogfights. Keep it up! Check below for all pilot achievements in more detail. I will also add almost everything below is something reflected on your uniform. From this section in the previous report, there was some discussion of new Flight nicknames and mottos. With the addition of a fourth flight, I think this makes a lot of sense considering the new flight needs a nickname, motto, and craft. I will be working on putting a competition together for this very reason, with input from the squadron as we go. |

Conclusion |

Theta, although we are in a rebuilding phase, has a strong PvP presence and some great engagement on Discord. I look forward to building the squadron and making it our own through a small squadron competition. Also, GN Pete Mitchell is currently the FL for Flight 4, and he is looking to be a FM, so I will be looking for Flight Lead in the coming weeks as well. Finally, as Theta does not have an Executive Officer (XO) I will also be looking for an XO. The XO and FL can be the same person or different people.
