Commodore HA Dempsey reporting
Report ID: H.AD.005
Report date: august 20, 2020
'We'll get you set up with some quarters,' Dempsey said as she walked down the corridors of the mighty ISD-II Challenge. 'They're working on it right now but as you can see,
this ship still is not up to standards.'
The woman walking beside her nodded. 'I had noticed. I thought this would have been done by now.'
'As did I,' the Admiral replied. Apparently my absence was not conducive the work ethics on this ship. And that's where you come in.'
Dempsey stopped at one of the turbo lifts and pressed the button to call it to her deck. A few seconds later the turbo lift doors swooshed open, and the two stepped inside. Dempsey smiled.
A few seconds later, the doors opened and Dempsey stepped onto the main hangar bay of the warship. At least this has been prepped for use, she thought. She stepped forward, and watched as the
assembled crew of her ship snapped to attention.
'Crew of the ISD-II Challenge,' she began. 'As you know, this ship has now been in service to the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet for two months. It pains me to have to see that she still is not
in prime condition. It's good to see we have the pilots to fill our squadrons, but if their fighters are a mess, and if this ship is in shambles, that won't do much good. As you also know, the Warrior
and Hammer both have a Wing Commander. We don't. Well... we didn't. One of my tasks the past few weeks during my absence was to find us one. And I have.'
She stepped aside so the other woman could be seen.
'This is Admiral Denys. I doubt you've heard of her. That was intentional. Do not underestimate her abilities. I know some of you have had dealings with Major Task. I know what many of you think of him.'
She smiled. 'Rest assured, that Admiral Denys is worse. A lot worse...'
Yup, you heard it right. I've found us a Wing Commander. Well, so far I've only found a nice picture online, now to build a record. That will be my next task.
This report also means I have returned. Unscathed I might say, despite a nice 60 attempts to kill myself by jumping out of an airplane at 5,000 feet or more. Damn parachutes.
Anyways - The July evaluations are complete as far as I can see, but I'm still getting used to the current system. I might have missed something. I might not. Medals should be coming.
As promised, I have (nearly) completed the preparations for the first big ISD-II Challenge competition, which I've myysteriously decided to name Wake me up when September ends. The games begin on September 1st, at which point you will receive an e-mail from me with the details for this competition. To make things easier, it would probably help to have a mailing list for this ship, so I'll see about that too hopefully. The competition will be open to all pilots of the Challenge and will pit you against one another in a variety of disciplines. Some will involve flying, others will not. Some will be easy, and some will make you despair. And after all that hardship - there is a coveted Iron Star with Platinum Ribbon available if you perform exceptionally well. These medals don't come around very often, so be sure to go for it!
The following sections of this report will probably be woefully incomplete, but I must say I have been unable to keep up during my absence. better luck next time around.
And I know what you're thinking. Reports from my end will be erratic, depending on how my weekends go.
Lastly, if you haven't heard, there's going to be a few changes. The EH Command Staff has abandoned the SSSD Sovereign and moved onto the SSD Avenger as part of the change in the organization. All trainees will be moved from the outdated training facilities aboard the M/PLT Daedalus onto the Avenger as well.
Also, very quietly, this round's Commendations of Loyalty were awarded. Kudos to all who received them!
Lastly, there is a Flight Leader position open in Tempest squadron. Interested personnel should contact the squadron commander, GN Dunta Polo and myself.
Dismissed!
