FSE Report # 4 (2000-11-05)

This report was submitted by SA Kawolski

This has been a productive week!

IWATS Courses - More IWATS Courses are being hosted under the new Test System including mIRC/1, mIRC/2, IIC/1, IIC/2, IIC/3, and Computer Basics. There was a small bug with people taking multiple courses, but that has been fixed.

Command Officer Report System - Command Officers (or their CAs) and select Staff members now have the option of posting their CO reports online at tiecorps.org. You can view CO reports at: http://www.tiecorps.org/reports/

Imperial Senate Database - I've received some more templates and the database is about to be opened up shortly!

Battle Submission Forms - You can now upload X-Wing Alliance pilot files (.zipped or not) to the TIE Corps database to automatically fill out your BSF scores.

Platform Daedalus - The modifications to Platform Daedalus are complete! Previously, Cadets were barred from using the TIE Corps database until after they completed training. This has changed as a Cadet's profile administration now displays a personalized Training Program for them along with their progress. From the welcome letter, they are given their PIN and Password to learn how to use the TIE Corps database from the beginning.

Pilots are shown the entry requirements for their game platform and training company. If the pilot hasn't passed IWATS Core, a link to the IWATS Core site is available. Cadets under 13 years of age can see if their parents have approved their membership status yet. A cadet can request a squadron assignment after all other elements of training are complete.

The Medal of Instruction system has changed slightly with this new system. Only one MoI can be awarded per pilot and it's no longer enough to just refer someone to the tiecorps.org page and abandon them to fare on their own. You have to help your newly recruited person (and make sure they know your PIN #) go through the training process and upon theif assignment with full member status as a Sub-Lieutenant, you will receive your Medal of Instruction.
