Security Office News

During the next two months you should be seeing a fair few changes in the Security Office. One aspect is that I probably will be hiring two or three Security Office Assistants (SOAs) to help me with a matter of issues that will be coming up. The best SOA out of these may become the next Command Attache to the Security Office so stay tuned for further news on that.

Sometime over the next fortnight I'm going to start typing up the official replacement to the HCI. After various input several months ago (which I lost when cleaning out my inboxes) I think I'm ready to assemble a final product which will be brought in front of my peers (CS/IA/SGCOMs), Astatine, and finally out for public release.

Another goal I hope to accomplish to publish a list on the Security Office website of expelled members and those with temporary IRC bans. This list will become useful for all EH Channel Ops as it will list everyone they should kick. With the new Codes of Conduct, longer IRC bans may be given instead of Court Martials so banned people will just be added to that list for a period of time - think of this as a "Most Wanted List."

Overall I think a lot of the coming changes will help everyone in the end and make security easier to enforce. Look for progress reports in my future reports, although with final exams in one month for me, progress will be stalled until they're over.
