SO Report : Week Two - 24 April, 2003 Greetings, honoured members of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet! I am quite happy to report I have recieved very few complaints this week. Even during periods of relative crisis it is heartening to see the maturity and decorum on display throughout the fleet. My SOA, AD Dura, is currently hard at work on our brand-new Security Office web site, located at http://www.ehpd.org/ There's not all that much there just yet, but stay tuned for near-continual updates in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please feel free to consult former SO Brad's site, http://so.ehintel.org For those of you who have recieved queries from external security sources regarding actions taken in an EH channel, please refer any and all inquiries to me. Whether or not a user of our domains is an EH member or not, policing of the communications channels belongs strictly to the EH. An exterior organization who would like to take action against one of thier members for something that's occurred in an EH forum needs to follow the set series of diplomatic procedures that has been set out. Not that I'm unwilling to help! I just need to know about it. :) Finally, a slight issue has cropped up, which I would be remiss in not mentioning before I go. Password protection is the primary means of security in our on-line environment. A well thought-out password is often the first and last line of defense between you and your valuable protected data. That being said, it becomes imperative thought and care be placed in the selection thereof. Passwords should be as many multiple characters as possible, and difficult to guess. This means your TC database password should preferably not be your name, or your pin number. Password common sense is important not only in the EH, but can serve you well in your daily life.
