Internet Office News

For those of you who aren't aware, I've written a tutorial on how to use XML to include data from other web pages into your page (for example the news inclusion on the side of www.ehnet.org) and you can download it from http://arigi.tripod.com/xml_include.zip.

Project Hawkeye is progressing nicely, we're still in the planning/documentation stages. Some of the CS and certain others have been informed about the details of Hawkeye and have agreed to assist us by participating. I cannot yet reveal publicly however what exactly Hawkeye is at least until the final proposal is finished and approved by GA Ronin. However, this will be something original that no one's run before in the EH, and it promises to be fun for everyone who participates.

We need skilled web programmers and graphics artists for Hawkeye, since the project is website-intensive. We also may invite individuals onto the Hawkeye team who will end up helping to run the Project when it is open to the public. Ample rewards will be given to all Hawkeye staff, so you needn't worry about that. But if you think you're a good website or graphics designer, simply drop me an email at ari@tiecorps.org and say that you're interested. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

I'd like to remind people that with the upcoming holiday season, the EH Greeting Card Center is still fully functional. You can use it to send e-cards to your fellow pilots about that reb you vaped or what a good match you had and other things at http://www.ehnet.org/gcc/.

I'd like to thank RA Darkfire for doing the reports for the last two weeks when I could not access my computer on both Fridays.

Also, once Hawkeye development finishes the design and planning stage and moves into development & implementation, I will probably bring back (not even bring back, they were never fully instituted) the EH Holonet Awards. Details will be published when the time comes.

Internet Office Poll

After writing the XML tutorial, I've decided maybe I should continue in writing others, hence this week's poll, "What kind of web programming tutorials would you like to see from the IO?" available to vote at http://www.ehnet.org/pollBooth.php?pollID=68.
