COMM Report #30
July 27, 2002

News:

     - New COMMA's in, old COMMA out -- LT Andrew has been brought in as a new COMMA to even out the load of MB's when counting posts for MoC's. COL Ramos has been appointed COMMA in place of the recently resigned LC Sephiroth.

- COL Gilkane has also been removed as COMMA for his in-office inactivity. If you are still interested in becoming a COMMA, please email applications to me at teeps10@alltel.net.

- The COMM Office has been reposted, and you can find it at http://www.frognet.net/~teeps/comm/ or at http://comm.minos.net/.

- The COMM Office staff page will be updated by the end of this weekend, once I receive bios from all the new little COMMA's. :P

New MoC's:

There has been some confusion due to
vacations around the office, but the
MoC lists will be out by this week's meeting time.
I will edit them into this report when they have
been awarded by the committee.

of GA Ronin, SA Astatine, or the EH as a whole; it's just intended to be fun)

COMM Product Review:

This Week's Product: Microsoft Outlook Express

A fine email client that came standard with my copy of Windows XP (save your boos >:P), I decided to write my own review of this email proggy that Bill Gates has unceremoniously shoved down my throat.

Highs:

Multiple important features like address book and calendar, and a particularly neat link-up to MSN messenger that automatically loads buddies from MSNM into your Outlook address book.

Lows:

Not nearly as many features as the full version, like a planner with automatic reminders, etc. Plus an annoying feature that only marks messages as read if they've been open for a certain amount of time, which is just awful for when you get junk mail that you don't want to read.

Overall:

A decent program despite its misgivings, but rest assured- as soon as I find my Jornada install CD, I'll be switching back to the full version of Outlook.

6 out of 10 COMM Office Stars
