XO Report # 3 (2001-02-18)

This report was submitted by HA Kawolski

=====================================
Introduction
=====================================

Welcome! It's been a while since my last report because of a short hiatus after constructing NL #71 and the extra workload I had to put on to make the new NL by the deadline. Then I had schoolwork and RL work stuff to catch up on!

=====================================
EH - Newsletters
=====================================

If you haven't seen Newsletter #71 yet, you can download it at several places:
http://thunder.prohosting.com/~surefire/NL71.zip
http://www.ssdavenger.org/nl71.zip
http://php.ehnet.org/NL71.zip
http://apn.dhs.org/71/NL71.zip

You can view it online at:
http://www.isdcolossus.com/71/

Letters of Achievement have been given out, but if you didn't receive yours for some reason, contact me!

The TIE Corps dominated with the most submissions (excluding reports/INPRs), the Dark Brotherhood was a good second place, the BHG was 3rd, and the Imperial Senate was fourth.

I'm still looking for columnists! If you want to write a monthly column to the Newsletter, please contact me with a name for your proposed column along with what basic subject it would be covering.

=====================================
EH - For SGCOMs
=====================================

Remember, at the end of the month this month, ROSTERS ARE DUE TO ME! I want a hard-copy of the roster in txt, doc or html format with the minimum of rank, name, and e-mail address of all active members in the subgroup. It doesn't need to be sorted in any special way...it can be as nice or plain looking as you want to make it, but it must contain the bare minimum. If your database can't do it, hire a low-level lackey to put one together for you and give him a medal for his trouble. :P The roster turned in should be current and I ask for it to be sent to me sometime during the last 7 days of the month...no sooner, no later.

=====================================
TIE Corps - SM/3
=====================================

Work is continuing on the new SM/3. I hope to have it out around the time when the pilot transfer system and online ATR system is complete. If you have any suggestions on what should be included or changed in SM/3, e-mail me. Some additions include how to use features on tiecorps.org, shortcuts, medal standards, running competitions, and more FAQ style notes.

=====================================
TIE Corps - New Iron Star system (again)...
=====================================

In case you haven't seen the TIE Corps news report, the Iron Star system has changed yet again. This new system fixes the problems the first revision had.

The Iron Star is awarded for winning a Training Office-approved competition. There are two types of add-ons depending on the type of competition. For all Flying competitions, Wings are awarded. For all Non-Flying competitions, Ribbons are awarded. The type of Wings or Ribbon awarded is dependent on the size of the competition.

Bronze - 1st place in a competition involving at least 6 pilots, runner-up award for Silver competitions, 3rd place/participating award for Gold or Platnium competitions

Silver - 1st place in a competition involving 4 or more squadrons or task units, 2nd place award for Gold or Platnium competitions

Gold - 1st place in a competition involving 3 or more wings/task forces.

Platinum - Training Office competition

Wings are worth FCHG points (1,3,5,10 pts respectively) but Ribbons are not.

Now, some people received awards during the first run of the Iron Star change. Your medal has been converted to the appropriate type. Check your personnel profile to see.

The FCHG point system hasn't been updated yet. I will be changing it today in an effort to redo and fix the FCHG system on the database without having to rely on moving to the new server.

Corporate Division - New PREX needed
=====================================

With the resignation of AD Mooks, we need a new PREX for the Corporate Division.

The requirements are as follows:
* Someone active with a good amount of time
* Previous command experience
* NO problems with the HCI
* Web design/HTML experience
* Explain your plans on how to resurrect the staggering subgroup

E-mail me if you wish to apply for it. Don't list references...have them e-mail me to speak on your behalf.

=====================================
Infiltrator Wing - IWCOM promoted
=====================================

Congratulations go to IWCOM Moreco for his recent promotion to Vice Admiral! With that, the Infiltrator Wing page is being temporarily moved to http://iwto.emperorshammer.ca/ while the old one undergoes reconstruction with new roster layouts and such. In the meantime, you can see their current roster at: http://iwto.emperorshammer.ca/iwcom/roster.htm

=====================================
Hammer's Fist - UT:EH
=====================================

Unreal Tournament fans! Check out the new lightsaber screen shots at the UT:EH homepage at: http://ut.emperorshammer.ca

This UT Star Wars mod looks like it's going to be kicking all forms of ass over the other SW mods out there or in development!

We still have:
Half-Life - Imperial Battles: http://www.chaosrealm.com/imperial/ - Looks promising with some decent mapwork

Star Wars Quake - Call of the Force: http://swtc.telefragged.com/ - I have to say I was pretty disappointed with this one. Jedi Knight is better than this...after four years in the making, they should've done the change over to the Quake III engine. :(

=====================================
That's it for me this week! Keep watching my news sites for more info throughout the week!
