Security Office News

The new Codes of Conduct are being released today! Huzzah! I don't have the link to them, unfortunetly (they're posted on the COMM's site) but I'm sure Admiral Joey C will post them in his report (hint hint). While there aren't any earth shattering changes, I think they are better and more flexible than the old ones. Feedback is appreciated.

Petty IRC fueds end now. If you want to argue with another member of the club, go right ahead ... just be civil about it. I don't feel like having to act like a babysitter when I'm on IRC so don't bring your crap into a public channel or abuse your ops access - anyone caught doing this will have their X access relieved for a period of time (if not permanently) in that channel.

I mentioned this a few months ago but I suppose I should bring it up again. There are people/positions in the club that deal with command-esque decisions. Line rank members are not supposed to be making back door deals with other clubs or whatnot. It's called the chain of command (sound familiar?) and it should be followed at all times. Failure to follow it is a serious offense, especially when dealing with outside influences.

This report marks my sixth month of being the EH Security Officer. It has been an interesting experience, giving me a greater understanding of EH politics and being outside a single battlegroup (go ASF :P). My two years in the EH has been a very good time full of laughs, frustrations, and good times with friends - we have a wonderful club here so don't take it for granted. The latest virus threats can be found online here (opens a new window). It also provides documents on new computer threats, fixes, and other useful information.

-Faster timeframe for issues to be resolved, brought to the HCI, etc.
Court case being processed.

-Revise Articles of War and Bylaws in consultation with relevant parties.
