Security Office News

Fairly quiet around the fleet this past week, which is usually a good sign. I've noticed though that some IRC channels do not have enough Ops present at all times, thus having unwanted people in there and no one able to do anything about it. While this is more of a COMM thing, Channel Admins are free to add me to the X user list (undernet nick is Vladet) so when people ask me to come into a channel to boot someone, I actually can get Ops in there. It'd be a good idea.

The Empire versus Magnus Vader is still awaiting a decision from the Fleet Commander. I'll inform you of the verdict as soon as it becomes available. Remember, it's really not a good idea to harbor rDB members in EH channels.

-Internet security matters.
The latest virus threats can be found online here (opens a new window). It also provides documents on new computer threats, fixes, and other useful information. Still trying to incorporate an easy to use alert box into this report, but all the ways I've tried look ugly.

-Faster timeframe for issues to be resolved, brought to the HCI, etc.
Queue is clear.

-Revise Articles of War and Bylaws in consultation with relevant parties.
