One member was sent to the HCI last night for swearing on IRC in channel #DB and then continuing to do so after being warned, kicked, and banned. He also chose to protest his swearing after being banned. I know that the swearing rule on EH IRC channels is something that can very easily be handled well by channel operators. Remember that even if you are swearing because it is a quote from a TV show or movie, song, etc. it does not make it okay to put in the channel. It is still swearing. I am still behind on pending complaints. I'm trying to address new complaints also so I won't have a large amount of pending complaints that build up. As always, remember to use the chain of command whenever possible for complaints. For major violations, complaints about your superior, or complaints from the command staff go to me directly. If you send a complaint to HA Royal, SA Astatine or GA Ronin, they will forward it to me. You can save some time by sending it to me first. Something to note, you must be a current member of the EH to send a complaint. (You are a current member if you are in the Reserves). Those who just resigned or have been expelled from the club may not send a complaint. Part of my initial work on a complaint is to see if the person sending the complaint is in fact a member. Then I have to check if the evidence is valid and true. Verifying complaints and conducting investigations spend nearly all of the time it takes with a complaint. If you have a question about anything at any time, just ask me. I try to answer all e-mails that are sent to me directly within 24 hours. If you do not hear from me after sending a complaint or haven't heard from me in a while about a complaint you sent, ask me again. I will look back in my to do list and archived e-mails. People who send a complaint to me on IRC will be asked to send me an e-mail. I normally forget about complaints or requests while on IRC. I am monitoring channels while on IRC, chatting, or being in a meeting (possibly even running it). You may ask me about EH matters while on IRC.
