Aggressor Strike Force Report #24 - 07.31.04

Pilot's Lounge

A Short History of the Aggressor Strike Force, Part Two:
Disclaimer: This is mostly made-up, misses a lot of details, and is just for fun. That should keep the lawyers away.

The third Supremacy Competition ended with a victory for the ISD Brucmack. ISD Grey Wolf that is... Really. When asked about the secret of the ship's success, COM Khadgar is said to have replied, "Everyone was highly motivated. Of course, the fact that everyone's computers were set to self-destruct unless they reached a certain number of SC points helped." Eventually, however, COM Khadgar got tired of COM Brakka from the Intrepid eating all the best Daedalus recruits for dinner, and headed for the Combat Operations Office, whose chief purpose was to "award itself combat medals".

RA Azazel and LC Wes Janson took the helm of the Grey Wolf, promising to, "abuse their VIP access to the Wolf's Head (the famous Grey Wolf cantina)." About this time, veteran Garik Hizad left Wing XV WC, citing, "I've fallen off my rocker. No, literally!" Ekim Yellek takes his spot, and did a nifty rewrite of a Tennyson poem. Another swap around this time was Dengar March leaving Wing XIV WC for the famous bard Will Scarlett of the Merry Men. Sorry, that's COL Wil Striker.

The Intrepid was victorious in ASF:SC IV after COM Brakka pledged to "eat anyone not participating". Diamondack and Avenger collect citations for fun and posterity. Brucmack picks up the title of Baron, after working his way up the ranks from Knighthood. Wil Scarl-Striker became COM of the Intrepid eventually. Tissaya Argat becomes the Wing XIV WC, and later became of the subject of an enigmatic Balance of Power battle that the Tactical Office will seemingly never release (not without high level merit medals, anyway). Sickman woke up after a long night at the pub and was Vanguard COM.

The fifth ASF:SC Competition resulted in the Intrepid retaining the flagship title. When asked about the Intrepid's secrets of success, COM Wil Striker is said to have replied, "Why the hell would I tell you? They are secrets of success, after all!" A number of flag officer changes occured during and after the fifth SC. COL Tarkin leaves Wing XV WC for Drax Remlinger, who promised Sickman triple malt scotch if he could have a chance at the spot. RA Sarin made Khadgar Wing XIII WC during the SC after Hev Randorwan ended up in sickbay (the two were proven unrelated by the HCI, really...) The "Grey Wolf Secret Order of Monks" was founded, but isn't really worth explaining, since even its name is contradictory to reality. COM Sarin of the Grey Wolf takes a trip to the Iraq Sector to fight Rebels and Pirates, and Khadgar is given his old COM office back by VA Darksaber. Archon and the second iteration of Hev Randorwan are named as Wing XIII WCs. Some Dark Jedi leave the EH in a strong disagreement regarding robe colors. Among these are Hev and Tissaya. Gilad Pelleaeon and Phantom take their spots. Sarin comes back from the Iraq Sector to take COM as Khadgar heads to the M/FRG Phoenix after repeatedly asking to retire, "because it's drafty in here".

Phantom left Wing XIV WC for the Battlegroups, but eventually returned after realizing they're even sillier than we are. Drax leaves Wing XV WC after the Vanguard ran out of alcohol due to Sickman's constant raids. Frodo March stood on a stool and reached Intrepid COM. Nightmare and Gidda take the Wing XV and XIV WC spots. Sarin leaves for the Combat Operations Office, promising to, "Use LoCs less, award more bots, get rid of XWA and XvT and promote the old COO site. Argh, you know what I mean." Surpisingly, Khadgar didn't suddenly sneak in and take the job, and Grey Wolf COM fell to Gilad. Pickled Yoda became the Wing XIII WC. Hey, I don't know where the "Pickled" part came from, either. Unfortunately, his tab having caught up with him, Sickman decided to make a break for it, and Vanguard COM opened. Shortly after, ASF:SC VI started up. Daniel Goad started his run as Vanguard COM. Khadgar became BGCOM during this time, and was generally dazed and confused regarding getting accurate scoring.

The Vanguard staff headed for the hills. Daniel Goad realized he had HAL 9000 for a computer, and quickly retired. Nightmare decided to follow the Calling of His Heart (TM) and be Avenger Squadron CMDR. The dynamic duo came in the form of Drax and Praetorian. Of late, Justin has replaced Praetorian in the duo. Frodo went back to The Shire (TM) and Gidda rose up to COM, choosing Malidir to be Wing XIV WC. The most recent development is the surprising opening of a new ISD for the newest official EH platform, "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" Sorry, that new EH platform, "Prince of Persia". No, for real this time, that new EH platform, "Freeworlds". The ISD Predator came into being with RA Solar Macharius and MAJ Marcus Caine as its flag staff.

There you have it, a two part, abridged to death and generally inaccurate history of the Aggressor Strike Force.

Battlegroup Commander's Office

Freeworlds has come to the ASF in full farce. Force, that is. With the Predator opened, new recriuts will hopefully be assigned to the ASF. Also, ASF-wide Freeworlds activity is to be recognized and rewarded on MSEs. Marcus Caine has graciously offered himself as a consultant during this process.

I won't be able to answer my mail from the 3rd from the 10th because I'll be on a road trip. After running a news item and writing that again here, I'm still doubting a lot of people will remember, so I'll end up sending a proper mail about it.

Other than that, keep up the good work with recruiting and activity. CMDRs, get your July MSEs in or the Dark Lord Sauron will come with Mordor's Army and cast you into the fires of Mount Doom. And that's before the ASF flag officers catch up with you.
